My mom lost her brother when she was younger to appendisitis (sp?) She was about 17 and he just 11. My mom has NEVER gotten over it. Ever. She still cries and thinks it should have been her. Which hurts me. She talks about it often. I think my mom honestly needs help. People told my mom to be strong for her parents and she never got to show her emotions. So when her mother (my grandma) died this November, my mom in a way got to grieve her brother.
Please let this little girl know it is ok to cry. Don't let her hold it in.

I am so sorry that you and your hubby are going through this. I lost my 8 yr old godson to brain cancer last year. He died within one year of his diagnosis and left behind his identical twin brother. I completely understand your sense of confusion and pain.
A year later we are still coping with the loss of such a happy, loveable child. My heart, my prayers and my love are with you and your family.
