Feeling Blue...

Feeling Blue...

Hi girls,

I was doing so great, but all of a sudden tonight I'm feeling blue. Being apart from my DH is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Everyone else is talking about starting their lives with their new husbands, in new homes, and we just came back from the HM and went separate ways. I honestly don't feel married at ALL.

I'm picking up my proofs tomorrow, and don't even feel excited about it.

I have all my new stuff, appliances, cooking stuff, and I can't use any of it yet. Well, I guess I could use it, but who wants to use it alone? I was looking forward to cooking our first 'married meal' with my new stuff, and now I don't know when that's going to happen.

Ugh. It will probably only be a few weeks before we can move in together, but even so, it's tremendously more difficult than I thought it would be.

Sorry to be a little gray cloud. Just needed to vent.

My dh is home, but I do understand about all the new stuff. All min eis packed and waiting for me to have a house(not in this market). I still have engagement party gifts I have never used and we got engaged 3 years ago!

Re: Feeling Blue...

that must be so hard

why are you apart? Are you the one that posted about the apartment not being ready and your SIL living in the house or something?

If thats the case, I would still spend every night together and cook meals together. Can't he stay with you, until its settled?

(as for not using stuff, all our's is in NY at my parent's house. One day we'll have a house of our own to put it all...)

Hey Karen, hang in there
You'll be so happy once you are together. Just try to look at your situation as yet another thing to look forward to. Something to anticipate, and try to get everything prepared for him.
I hope you feel better, I'm here if you need me.

I hope that you are feeling better soon..
My DH works for the gas company so he has strange hours and we hardly get those cute newlywed things to do like staying in bed or cooking breakfast on the weekends. We hardly get a full weekend day together and I still get depressed after being married for 2 months. Just look forward the time when you will get to spend time together...Hugs to you!

Re: Feeling Blue...

I can kind of relate. We got married 3 months ago and since then, DH has been super busy, was away on business for 2 weeks and has been working nights for the past couple of weeks. So we never eat dinner together and we don't see each other much. And all our shower stuff is at his mom's until we move into our new house.
But this was the way things were before we got married so I guess it doesn't bother me that much. Things will get better when you can be together. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Re: Feeling Blue...

Thanks everybody. He's working so hard to get that house finished so his sister can move out, and I can move in! He was up until 3 a.m. last night working on it, so it's not like he's dragging his heels. But it's still hard being apart! The fact that we're 64 miles away from each other makes seeing each other every day nearly impossible, especially with work schedules and everything. So we're getting by on once or twice a week for now.

But I'll try to stay positive and look forward to the time when we CAN live together and really be a husband and a wife. Liz was right, it's just something else to anticipate. Should make the wedding withdrawal easier!

Thanks again everybody!
