how lovely! would you mind posting the names of the hotels you stayed in? looks like a trip i'd love to take!!

Sure!

The hotel in Bar Harbor was called the Bar Harbor Inn. We stayed in the main lodge in a King Room with ocean view, fireplace, and deep soak whirlpool tub.

The B&B in Newport was called The Cliffside Inn. We stayed in the Governor's Suite (Room 11). It was pricey, though ($565 a night!). We could only afford two nights.

They both have websites.
