FINALLY went to SS and DMV

can you believe it took me 8 months!!

and again at the SS office I freaked out about my last name...she said I could hypenate it there...but I didn't...

also...I couldn't believe...they asked if I wanted to renew my license and it was $45!!!

last time I did it in 1999 it was $25!!!

talk about inflation!!

Congratulations on getting it done! It took me 10 months to get to DMV, and I STILL haven't been to SS.

Jenn...well you can go when you get your little one a SS#...but its not as bad as you may think...the one in Mineola at least was not bad...

Erica ... what took you so long! I'm only kidding ... I, too, freaked out! Still, I haven't gotten used to my new last name and I hesitate when I say it! I'm only hypenated at work, and at school.

I got my SS and my Passport done through the mail. Thank goodness. I can’t bear the lines. I am really stalling on the license for some reason. When I do it, I have to get a Jersey license which means…..I have to take a test!!! Can you imagine?!?! I don’t even know if I’ll PASS. I am the worst with road rules. I just found out like a year ago that you can’t pass over a solid line!

I am thinking I might just renew it in New York with my new name since we have a home in East Hampton as well, and it would be good to have a New York ID. Also stalling, because it’s the first thing I’ll have that REALLY uses my new name. I mean – how often do you pull out your SS card?

Congrats on going Erica. I went right away and yet still continued to sign my maiden name on checks for like 3 months after!

Ok - you have me motivated - I am going to take an early lunch and head over to DMV. Hopefully - it won't be too crowded or take too long. I have been waiting for it to be nicer out to go and so I have no excuse. I am just sick of having everything in 2 different names - I never know which way to sign things. See ya in a couple hours!
