Just to let all of you LI girls know, Penn Station is closed right now due to a 'fire.' I have no idea what is going on, but I was just down there trying to go to Kmart and they evacuated everyone. I haven't heard anything on the news though...

FH was stuck as well & we have a wedding to attend we are arriving late i am on my laptop now as we drive there oh well i am glad everyone is ok

02/14/03) PENN STATION - Thousands of commuters got a real scare on Friday when they were evacuated from Penn Station and forced to wait on the sidewalk due to a track fire.
Officials say the blaze was started by a loose cable that hit the third rail on Penn Station's track 21, which carries LIRR service into the station.
LIRR service was stopped in both directions around 3:45 p.m. and resumed about 6:45 p.m.
Police say smoke conditions forced the brief evacuation of the LIRR concourse.
