First Anniversary Mini-Vacation

Our original plans fell through due to some medical issues.

So, now we are thinking about taking a mini-vacation and driving somewhere not too far.

We're thinking of the Berkshires or the Catskills or Mystic.

Any suggestions for nice places to stay where there are things to do and see? We're not really 'into' bed & breakfast places.

How about the Poconos? We went there in January for a 2 night stay at the Caesars Pocono Palace. It's a little dated and cheesy, but still a romantic, quiet get a away.

Other mini- vacations we've done in driving distance were Philadelphia, Boston and Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun in CT. Newport's great too, but we stayed at a B&B, if you're not into that, I'm sure there are hotels in the area.

you might consider Hershey, PA. Nothing better than enjoying some chocolate martinis in front of the fireplace at the Hershey Lodge! it's not too bad of a drive, and there's lots to do there, shopping, dining, spas, HersheyPark and chocolate world...i highly recommend it!

also Greenport, out east is nice if you want to check out the wineries
