Flip it time! How did you turn a bad thing into a good on your wedding day?
***Remember- HOW DID U TURN A BAD THING INTO A GOOD**** lolol
We got to talking last night about our wedding on the drive home from the wonderful Window's on the lake...
And we realized, although alot went wrong, we were more excited when we realized what we did to ENJOY it rather than harp on it all....
My cake was the wrong cake.... We had your typical 'Italian' wedding cake... so we actually decided to take some 'fake formal' shots infront of the cake (Posed with huge fake smiles and threw on some extra jewlery)
My hair was completely wrong, so they had to add hair extentions.... While we were in the car ride to get our pictures taken i ripped one out and said 'IM TOO EXCITED' DH almost threw up
I sliced my toe open on the beach.... So I got a kids flower band aid and rocked it with flip flops...
The signature drink frame wasnt put out- so the server made a special 'Non alcaholic' for us and kept bringing it to us (People thought that we had a special drink just for us no one else haha)
My hair started to fall out before the wedding, like the curls... so the DOC ran to CVS and i curled my own hair throughout the ceremony Got some awesome pictures of that!
It started TO POUR as we got to the reception... We got some awesome rain falling behind us pictures... my hair was all slopped but omg they came out great cause all that mattered...
Was that we were having fun!

The only thing that went wrong (that I know of) were my flowers, which I kind of knew were going to be a nightmare that day because I had a big fight with the florist 10 days before the wedding that my DOC had to resolve for me
I get my bok from my sister (MOH) she signed for all the bok's and its already wilting , sooo annoyed I didn't even want to handle it for any pics so that it would look ok for the ceremony.
I go into the reception room to take pics before CH ends and to check out the cp's and the hydrangea's are starting to turn brown already, the guest haven't even come into the room and they look like shyt, good thing the room was dark
I decided to just not care and just party, I was not letting things get me down or care, I just wanted to enjoy and start dancing.

There are only 2 MINOR things I know of that went wrong on our wedding day........ 1 of our GM's got the wrong color tie....all the guys were suppossed to wear some very, very dark red tie w/ a bit of black in it and 1 GM got an all black tie.....So instead of having him go all the way to the tux place I called DH and told him to just have his BM wear the blk tie. And the florist forgot to put flowers on my cake....no big deal at all!!

Hmmmm....
well I was SO nervous when I got out of the car that I forgot to pull down my blusher for my dad to lift before kissing me goodbye - I was initally ready to walk back down the church steps & put it up, but I was so excited when I saw DH I just said - wth...no biggie - I just always felt the lifting of the veil - was such a dramatic moment that I was initally so mad at myself for forgetting to do it & mad at my mom for not reminding me...lol
Everything else up until the reception was amazing. DH & I did a sweep of the room before anyone went in & noticed a few things wrong - our CP for our table was ALL WRONG - that I was pretty pissed about since I was EXPLICIT about what I wanted & also left a pic w/ florist of the exact thing I wanted (we were supposed to have only orange/coral & white flowers - almost identical to my bouquet & we had something that looked like all the other flowers ) Then I also noticed that the tall CP's had NO WATER in the trumpet vases... We had orchids in the vases that were supposed to float & look beautiful - but w/out water... - it was too late to put water in them at that point b/c people were getting ready to come up to the room. The only other small thing was our menus & napkins. I speficially hand tied & bundled the napkins per table & #'ed them for our RH - easy to put out, right? Well I had ours specifically different & had them marked B&G table - & somehow the 2 menus I custom did for DH & I ended up at some other tables somewhere...and I was mad that we now had no pics of that at our table. Once we left the room to start the reception I said to myself - in the grand scheme - I have to let it go - they were just details & nothing that would really matter when the day is over. I was now married to DH & it truly was a beautiful day, the best day of my life!!

After reading another post - lol
They gave DH's boutinerre to BM - so all the pre-wedding pics he has the wrong Boutinerre on - luckily they were able to change it before the ceremony started, but it irked me when I got our proofs

1 thing went wrong but i was upset over that and another thing. The Rh called the night before the wedding and told they couldnt cut the flowers for the wedding. Luckily my brother Handled it and my SIL parents went down at 9 am to cut all the flowers. the 2nd thing that got me really angery was the my only grand parent that said they would come to the wedding. Came down from MA but never showed to the wedding. and i have yet to get a reason why!

We had a few, nothing that ruined our day tho...
first 2 days before the wedding DH picked up his tux and it was 3 sizes to big!! he didnt just lose weight, the rental place just f'ed up! i called and was told they can get it by the next day, went in to return in and have him remeasured and they said they can only do it the next day if it was before 5:00, it was 6:00!!! so DH had to pick up his tux the morning of the wedding
We had a fake cake! our RH served it to the earlier wedding so instead of using the other cake we had a display cake that looked similar to our design. pissed at first, but half the people had no idea, and we got money and a free dinner out of the deal!
Our Limo did not fit the entire bridal party! I took a Rolls to the church and DH and i were suppose to hop in the big limo with the rest of the BP and my parents were going to take the Rolls to the Reception...yeah that didnt happen Limo company gave us a little attitude and my parents were more pissed than anything cuz they were stranded!!! we went in the rolls everyone else partied in the big limo and my parents had to call my aunt to come back and get them. then the limo driver came into our cocktail hour purpously to wait for a tiP!!!!
Our centerpieces were missing the lights in the vase to light up the whole CP. We added that extra and i was very disapointed because that was something i wanted to add something different...but they forgot them! boo truth is, i would have never noticed if my mom didnt point it out! LOL!
My aunt was suppose to bring the throw away bouquet to the Hall with her but she forgot it. So she wound up making one out of blue hydrangas (i hate hydrangas) from her backyard to replace it! when they handed it to me my mom was like laughing cuz i was like ugh i told the florist no hydrangas! lol i had no clue, finally someone explained it to me later.
I think thats it really

The only thing that went wrong day of is that my hair/makeup person (surprise!!!) was an hour and a half late....which I didn't know until after the wedding how much that REALLY affected the entire day. I had no choice but to roll with it...I can honestly say after that nothing went wrong. The wrapping on my bouquet started to come off, which was annoying, but I just held on to it a little tighter. But the lateness really affected my stress level and had some repercussions on pictures as well, so in hindsight I'm actually really annoyed about the trickle effect.

The only thing that went wrong was that my hair make up lady ran a bit late so I had to drive myself in my own car to my wedding. Thank goodness my best friend Jeremy was in the car with me otherwise I would have freaked!

Re: Flip it time! How did you turn a bad thing into a good on your wedding day?
It rained on my wedding day!!! ANd not just any rain...down pouring wind swept rain that caused us to loose out on all the wonderful pictures outside our RH! And not to mention the pictures we were going to do on the beach! But we used the rain as good luck!!
Over to one major problem we had was the tuxes!!! My dad's was too small, my brother's a little too big, My IL ripped pants and shoes that did not fit. This tuxedo company really F*d things up! I still remember standing in my bedroom looking at myself in the mirror and my BF came in with my jewerly and all I hear is my dad screaming ' This damn tuxedo don't fit' I turned to her and said ' I don't even wanna know, Paige, just close the door' While this was going on the photographer had just shown up and was witnessing my dad flipping out!! My mom got on the phone screaming at the Tuxedo place..they ended up offering for a refund. My dad was screaming until he saw me and I think he started to tear up! Luckily the photographer came fully prepared..she had a needle and thread and was able to save the day!!!!! She was Wonderful!!!!
That is a classic story we still tell and laugh about it too!
