Fondant - for you bakers

Any of you have a recipe for fondant that you're willing to share and maybe some helpful hints on using it :) I'd really appreciate it!

TIA!

go to michaels.. BIL makes gorgeous gorgeous cakes for all our birthdays (he's an amatuer cake designer-very talented) and i believe he goes to michaels.

The Wilton fondant is NASTY!!!!! I make marshmallow fondant and it's much better. You take a 16 oz bag of mini marshmallows and two tbsps of water and melt them in the microwave in 30 second intervals. Then add 3/4 of a 2 lb bag of confectioners sugar into the melted marshmallows. Cover your hands and your work surface with Crisco (trust me, use a lot or it will stick!) and then knead the confectioners sugar into the marshmallow. If it's too dry add a tbsp or two more water to it. When it's smooth and the sugar has been incorporated into it, cover it with more Crisco and double wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. When you're ready to use it, 'flour' your work area with confectioners sugar and roll it out.
