Unfortunatly for me, my one MOH didnt throw me a party or even give me a gift for my weddings..

but if i had my choice it would def. be a day at the spa followed by lunch or dinner at one of those great places on sex and the city

Re: For all of you Newleyweds.....Question????

My MOH did a pretty 'normal' bachelorette party...a nice dinner out in Manhattan followed by a typical Bachelorette show/disco club thing. I had fun but it wasnt out of the ordinary. (I think she was all wedding'd out after my shower)

But she did make me a cute veil to wear and got these penis straws and buttons that lite up...cute bachelorette sort of accessories :D

How many people do you have? What is your budget?

Maybe rent a cool vintage car, get all dolled up and do a whole day out in NYC. Spa in the daytime, trendy club at night. But all this is big $$!

I just went to a low key bachelorette party at a spa on the upper east side. For $139 each, they closed their shop for us and it included a massage, facial, pedicure and manicure. The bridesmaids had lunch catered in and drinks available. The invitations wer so cute and there were favors and everything.

I had a city bachelorette party. It was pretty typical but one thing that stands out...I didn't want my friends to have to spend a ton of $$ but I want to have dinner, drinks and dancing in the city. The restaurant had a limited price fixed menu. We went to Cafe Espanol. The food and service was great and it was relatively inexpensive. They served us family style about 5 different appetizers and then we had a choice of about 5-6 different entrees. Dessert and unlimited sangria. It was probably one of the best parts of my night.

I absolutely agree with the day at the spa. Unfortunately, I didn't have a bachelorette party - ran out of weekends, but I would've loved a day at the spa.

Here's are some things I/DH have done for our friend's bachelorette/bachelor parties:

1-Buttons for all participants. Picture of the bridetobe/groomtobe and the date. Made them on my PC. They were a big hit. For my friends I used good pictures of her. For DH's friend he used really silly pictures of his friends.

2-I made a map for a bar crawl for all particiants complete with silly pictures of the bride/groom.

3-CD's for all participants.

4-Tee-shirts for all participants

5-www.thatguygame.com - Too much fun!

How about a theme? My friend did a cowgirl theme. It was corny but we had fun. We went to the cowgirl hall of fame for dinner, then to all different bars in the city that went with the theme (Whitehorse Tavern, Hogs and Heiffers, Coyote Ugly, etc.) The MOH asked we all dress up too. Some did and some didn't it was cute...but corny.

Re: For all of you Newleyweds.....Question????

Thank you so much for all these great ideas!!!

Stef - Can you FM me the place that you just went to? How many girls was it?

For this party - there is only 5 (the bride insists that it be BP only) so I can't imagine they would close shop for 5?

I want to spend about $500, but the other 4 girls are going to chip in as well.... so we will prob. have close to $1200/1300??? somewhere around there....

$500 is even pushing it for me, but she is an amazing friend and my MOH as well....we're like sisters!

Niecey - WHAT GREAT IDEAS!!!

How did you do the buttons?

I am logging on to that game site right now.....

Re: For all of you Newleyweds.....Question????

I bought buttons from orrientaltrading.com. They were plastic that opened and you can slip in a picture. I scanned all different pictures of our friends, brought them into Word, shrunk them to the right size, put a text box with the name and date and printed. Cut them out and slipped them into the pin! It was pretty easy (esp. once I got the size right).

Niecey - those are very cool ideas. Must make a note of it when its my time to do one.

Sage: The name of the place is called Tsunami Spa

Its not a super posh place but its pretty enough, the price is excellent and the staff wait on you hand and foot!

I think we had 8-10 girls. I would imagine they would want that many to close it down for as many hours as we did...but no harm in asking.

Stef - THank you!!! No need for a super trendy place....something nice, but low key is perfect...I am going to check it out now....

Thank you Newleyweds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a Halloween themed party since DH and I met on Halloween. We played a game where we had to find specific things or events and take pictures of them Ex. a guy who had a condom in his wallet, me doing shots with guys I don't know etc... It was so fun!

I planned my own b/c mu MOH was pregnant and I didn't want to see any strippers! We went to the Origins spa at Chelsea Piers, it was great and the staff is very accomidating. We went out to eat afterwards family style in the village and then did some bar/lounge hopping courtesy of a limo my MOH got for us.
Good luck planning! I am sure whatever you plan will be great!Origins SPa

My girls rented a limo, and we went out to the wineries on the North Fork. I didn't want a typical b-party, so this was perfect. They brought out baskets of food, and we relaxed at a few of the vineyards.
That evening we came back to the area and went out to dinner

I had a tea, which is what I really, really wanted. But it was great because Claud created a whole game around it. She wrote questions about my life with Scott and called him (secretly). She then asked me the questions during my tea, and if my answers matched Scott's I won prizes! I am sure she could give you all the details. It was very fun.

I went to Fire Island for the weekend for mine. We got hotel rooms, lounged on the beach, chatted, and visited some bars and acted silly. It was the perfect combination of 'girl bonding' and 'wild nights'.

My girls were AWESOME.
I didn't want to do anything that involved
1. noise
2. crowds
3. guys
4. guys in thongs
My bachelorette party is the one that was at Tsunami.
Here are some pics:

The Catering was Dean and Deluca.

Re: For all of you Newleyweds.....Question????

My BP was a spa day we had 8 ladies & we went to NuBest in Manhassett. The services were really great-full-body salt-rubs, steam showers, 1 hour massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, 1 girl got a make-up lesson. I think that each of the girls paid for their own services & my MOH & my step-mom paid for me & for lunch. Then we went to Millie's for an early dinner which was great. We met @ the spa @ 9:30 am & got home @ 6pm. It was 1 week before my wedding so my treatments were perfect. I'm not sure of all of the prices, but I'm not a big fan of Nubest(because they were under construction & didn't tell my MOH when she booked. I would never go back there for that reason). I think that there are lots of other spas that are in that area as well.
My shower was a victorian tea party & we played lots of theme games & had great favors & stuff.

I didn't want the club/stripper thing. DH hubby just went to the range & to lunch w/friends.

Susans your pics look great!
