for ladies who've done their albums...

okay okay YES i'm only doing my album NOW BUT...my layout is done & i feel like i'm giving the graphic designer so many changes...i'm telling myself it's okay to be picky because..well duh - i paid for it & i just want to be happy with it!. Did u make a lot of changes when u were given ur first draft of ur layout???? How many times did u send it back & forth??? make me feel better lol..

i made a whole bunch of changes, but they told me i could be as picky as i wanted bc it was my album and i was the one that needed to be happy

They shouldn't be angry about changes...it's your album and you are paying for it, and I can probably garuntee that there are way worse brides out there then you! When i felt crazy about something I always thought about that.

I personally am not going nuts over my album b/c I feel that its not about the set up it's the pictures that count. Plus i get the rights to my pictures and i can make tons of albums with them after. I think you can drive yourself crazy thinking about ways to set up the album.

But that aside you do what you want and remember you are paying them to do it

4 times so far! The album I have posted is not quite my final layout!
So far I have made three revisions and now I'm onto the forth ( I literally just got off the phone with them)! I felt bad at first too, especially when I talked to my cousin who said they sent her the CD and she okay-ed it right away!

All in all, we are paying so much $$$$ we deserve to be 100% happy with it. It is the last touch from our wedding and I want it to be perfect

Just ask-as long as you're polite its fine. I always tell ym girls to ask because otherwise they wont be happy. The only thign I CAN say is sometimes we want certain pics in certain layouts and they just do not work, so trust your photogrpaher/designer if they are really insistent that no can do.

Also, VISUALS help immensely. What i think of as a 6 pic layout is probably different than what you're thinking so if you can SHOW the photographer pages you like, thats even better.

yea best bet is to be very clear the first time you make corrections so there is not another round. Nothing ticks me off is doing one round of changes as a designer then the person comes back with a second round of even more stuff that could of been fixed from the first round. I am getting my second round of changes and i hope my final round today of my album.

Be picky, many photographers do not do your album layout. They hire a salesperson who knows how to use a template program for albums. Not knocking them because they understand the program and have a sense of design knowledge but they are not graphic artist by FAR.

my photog did such beautiful layouts but bc of my own little obsessive tendencies and needing certain things to be in a certain order and be symmetrical, i made so many little nitpicky changes. back and forth a hand ful of times over stuff. im so thankful she was patient and understanding with me. taryn, don't feel bad (tho, lol, i did feel bad too), you really want to be completely happy with your album, you know? and im sure they are used to it!!

ITA with this! MAny brides are timid and dont want to upset you and its like lady this is my JOB! Tell me what you like and dont be afraid because chances are if you're timid they will have to make mroe changes as the above poster said and its usually stuff you can do the first round.

You're a sweetheart Taryn, She wont think you're rude. Just try to make your email as detailed as possible.

oh man...I would say 4 or 5 in my case!Who knows, maybe more. Don't feel bad- you have to look at the album for the rest of your life, not the designer! Show your drafts to Jenn (PeteysBride)- that's what helped me!
