Does anyone know anything good or bad about Wantagh? I am looking at a home there tonight - it's SD 23 (Wantagh Schools) anyone have any info. at all - ?
I know very little about Wantagh - We've never looked there -
I looked in Massapequa - Floral Park - Stewart Manor - and RVc

My sister lives right on the border of Wantagh, and she loves the area!! Good luck!

We looked in Wantagh a little bit too. District 23 is a good school district - that's the one we wanted to be in if we moved there.

For those HH... We looked in New Hyde Park this weekend

We went to three open houses and I have to say we are very discouraged. The first two were 360,000 and were no near what anything we would want. The last one was 399,000 and could work but needs to be completely re-done. At that price there is no way we want to completely redo a home.

Should we skip Nassau completely? We want something that is at least in liveable condition with a reasonable commute to NYC.

Welcome to the world of overpriced homes, Fran!

We've been going through the same thing on the South Shore... Our list of excuses keeps growing...

1) overpriced
2) too small
3) needs work
4) high taxes
5) poor schools
6) 'undesirable' location

Name it and feel free to add to the list!!

:)

I'll add to the list...

7.) no storage
8.) creepy basement (smells damp or funny)
9.) no yard
10.) have to 'un-do' the poorly done 'updates'
11.) there was a big spider over the closet (ok - it's minor, but it gave me the creeps)
12.) bad floor plan or traffic flow
