My ring is faintly starting to do this, and my cousins ring is almost gold again., but only on the bottom...i think that you need to have it redipped when this happens...

My e-ring is white gold and my wedding band is platinum, and I swear you can’t tell the difference. My white gold e-ring is a family heirloom. Since I got it two years ago, I have done nothing with it but clean it with a little dilute solution of ammonia every now and then. It’s still very shiny and has not tarnished. Sometimes up against my platinum wedding band is appears to have a golden hue, but after I clean it, it disappears.

My jeweler told me that this will happen, but you can get it re-dipped. It will be like new again. Fret not.

My white gold e-ring is turning yellow on the bottom too. I thought it was just me. Thanks!

Mine is too

You just need to get it rhodium dipped. I just wonder how frequently you need to get this done

I've had my ring dipped 3 times in a year and a half. The last time was in September, and it still looks great!

The jeweler you bought your ring from should do it for free.

Free, free, free, I am getting my wedding band done over in platinum, the re-dipping is beautiful but too pain staking. So off to the jeweler we go

I am sorry if I confused you with my post. I am goin to trade in my wedding band which is white gold and my jeweler is going to do it over for me in platinum. He does the re-dipping for free for me tho'

I had mine redone in platinum a week before the wedding. I was without my ring for 1 week until 2 days prior to the wedding! Got a platinum wedding band too. I couldn't stand the yellow-ness. I didn't even have it a year and it really was irritating me. I LOVE my platinum rings now! And they feel so much more solid than the white gold.

I have had my white gold e-ring for over 2 years now, wear it every day even with dishes, shower, work, cleaning etc and it hasn't changed at all yet. I will have to watch for that !!

I read somewhere that whether or not white gold will change back to yellow gold depends on the person's skin that the ring is on. So not everyone's ring will change color.

I just called the place where i got my e-ring and they charge 35$$ to have the dip!

I have white gold and my ring doesn't change color? I called my jeweler (good friend of ours) and he said that this should definitely not happen right away?

He said if this happens, it's because your jeweler used yellow gold and dipped it...which is much cheaper. White gold doesn't mean it's yellow gold underneath - it's the way the metals were mixed at the time the ring was molded.

Maybe you should look into it?

Hubby has a white gold ring as well and his isn't tarnshing either.

I'm not saying it can't happen...just wanted to share what my jeweler said!

Edited to say:
Found this online...maybe it will help:

White gold is plated with rhodium in order to keep its platinum-like luster. This plating tends to disappear with time and wear, causing the gold's natural color to appear. How long will it take? There is no simple answer. It depends on the thickness of the plating and the precise conditions under which it was applied.

i know that my ring is white gold over yellow gold- because it is 2 toned.
