For those of you who are preggo or have been...question...

Was it planned? If yes, how did you know you were ready? I ask because I am sooooo ready for a baby right now...and all you 07ers becoming preggo doesnt help me lol... However, I know Im not ready for the following reasons...

1- DH and I are not financially ready for a child ( we are not completely settled with jobs)

2- We need a bigger apt. and bigge apt. means more $$$ therefore less $$$ for a child...

3- I want to raise my child...but we cant afford just one person working...

I just feel its never going to happen...give me hope ladies

I understand that those of you who had or are going to have kids all have different jobs etc...so everyone situation is different..Im just curious to know how you knew you were ready, if it was planned.

I'm not pregoo, nor have I been, but I feel exactly the way you do. I want a baby so much right now, but just don't feel prepared. The way I see it is it will happen when the time is right. And it will work out. I think if you wait for everything to be perfect, you'll end up never having babies, KWIM?

i have to say that the time is never going to be PERFECT to have a baby. if you wait for every star to be aligned, it may never happen...

that being said - you do both have to be ready for it...

hey millie! DH and i had a 'if its meant to happen, it will happen' type of approach. and guess what? it did! life will throw you so many curveballs though, no matter what, you'll always have new surprises.

for example - we both now have really good jobs, we're saving up, and we live near all of our familiy...but come this fall, we're moving to a different state, with no job lined up (for me), and very little family around. i'm not worried because we're preparing now for the future, but still...if we would have waited for the 'right' time, we'd still be in that same boat.

#1 wasnt planned ( I miscarried though)
#2 wasnt planned I was 18 and I was so not ready but it was the best blessing ever !!
#3 wasnt planned but wasnt prevented we wanted another and just went with the flow
#4 same as #3 whenever it happens
#5 we will try for next yr so we can have them close in age and I will be done

The only thing we really struggle with is Health insurance for them !! We pay $199 each child

we also had the let it happen naturally mentality but we didnt think it would happen that fast.
i thought by next year but i am so happy this happened!
all i could think about is what could change next year.. a death in the family God forbid, a job change, maybe dh wouldnt be ready when im ready- there are so many factors in ttc.
and of course when you are really ready, it always doesnt go according to plan...

let it happen naturally... but try to be a little ready for it..

Yes it was planned!

At first we were going to wait at least another year to start trying, we wanted to be in a better financial situation and situated down in NC. BUT after going through the health scare with my mother (her pancreas is covered in tumors which thank god are benign right now, but they are all pre-cancerous and can change at any time), we decided that life is short and that we don't want to put our life and our dreams on hold for everything to be perfect b/c most likely it never will be!! It was def the best decision we ever made!!

I'm just 3 months pregnant now and couldn't be more excited! DH and I didn't plan to get pregnant this soon after our wedding, but we have always wanted children young and we got exactly that! I still have a year left of school, which scares me a bit, but I know everything will work out for the best!

I don't think the time will ever be just right, theres always going to be money problems or housing problems or what ever else. So long as you and DH are mentally ready to have a baby, I think that is a blessing in and of itself, and shouldn't be prolonged for the PERFECT moment, because I don't think that moment will ever come.

DH and I did plan to get pregnant w/ our son (he's 2). B/c I'm 6 years older than my dh, I didn't want to be in my mid to late 30's when I had our child ( I have 2 older). So we decided to have the baby b/f we got married. We both have good jobs, health coverage & benefits and were financially ok. It worked out well for US and I say that b/c every couple is different.

There are a bunch of things to take into consideration when planning for a child, but if it just happens- you will always find a way. If your having doubts maybe you should wait a year or two to get some of your stuff in order so that iwhen you do get pregnant, you can enjoy your pregnancy and not be stressed.

My ds is almost 6 months old and he was very planned. I have health issues that were discovered a few years ago. We found out if we wanted kids it was time to start. The older I get the worse the complications are for getting and staying pregnant. SO here we are with a honeymoon baby. We are already planning for #2 .
We could be better off financially but if we waited for the time to be perfect I may not be able to have kids so it would be a moot point.

My mom always told me that you're never going to have 'enough' money to have a kid, but you just make it work. She and my dad made it work and they didn't make much, trust me, but we had a great life growing up. We didn't have the latest things all the time, sure, but it was all good. Just go with your heart and the rest will work itself out.
