Did anyone stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the Ali'i tower? and if so what did you think? Thanks.

Re: For those of you who have gone to Hawaii on your honeymoon.....
We stayed there, but we only went to Oahu for about a day and 1/2, only one night. it was really nice, but soooo different from Maui and Kauai, honestly, my DH was upset at the cloudy water so he couldn't snorkel, and there is tons of shopping and action in Honolulu, but i am glad that we only went for a day. the hotel was fine, and the room was nice, but the experience there just didn't compare to the other islands for us!! Hope this helps!!

How long did you spend in Maui and Kauai? We planned on spending 6 nights in Oahu and 6 nights in Maui.

We did 5 nights in each, we had too much rain in Kauai, but the hotels and atmosphere there was much more what we were looking for than the city type in Honolulu....oh, but we did drive up north in Oahu, and it's beautiful, that is where you should go for the crystal water, etc. where are you staying in Maui?

We stayed there for a day and a half as well. We had booked a garden view room and when we checked in I mentioned it was our HM and they upgraded us to a jr suite. We went to Maui for 5 days and Kauai for 4. IMO I liked Maui the best

we liked Maui the best too, the Grand Wailea is beautiful, we stayed at the 4 seasons next door. I liked Kauai, but as i said, we had a terrible weather pattern (it was May, not supposed to be so rainy) and had mostly rain in Kauai, so it is hard to judge. i had at least 2 other couples who went to the Hyatt in Kauai, and loved it, better than maui too...it's hard, but you will love anything i'm sure. just be aware that Waikiki beach is much more touristy and crowded IMO....

Re: For those of you who have gone to Hawaii on your honeymoon.....
My best friend just went to Hawaii for her honeymoon in beg. of June and she is the one who told me not to go to Kauai. She went to Maui, Kauai and Oahu and she said that in Kauai also it rained almost the whole time she was there and she stayed in the princeville.

I stayed at the Princeville as well, it was a gorgeous hotel, but a bit too stuffy for me. Remember Kaui is considered to be a rain forest, so getting rain is quite common, they say if it is raining up north the weather is better if you drive to the south. Not for us when we went in February. We had 1 1/2 nice days and rain the rest
I am biased about Maui because I absolultely loved it. I only went to Oahu solely to see Pearl Harbor

We went to Oahu for 3 days - mainly to see Pearl Harbor and stayed at the Halekulani -- amazing hotel. We stayed at Grand Wailea on Maui -- awesome for 5 days, and Four Seasons on Hawaii for 4 days - also gorgeous! I would never go back to Oahu, but Maui -- oh boy, I think about going back there all the time!!

Re: For those of you who have gone to Hawaii on your honeymoon.....
I also went to Kauai, Maui, and Honolulu, but spent only 2 days in Honolulu (just enough to see Pearl Harbor and Waikiki). I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiin Village, but stayed in the tower that starts with a T (I can't remember it, but I think it's Tapu). We had an ocean and Diamond head view. It's a great hotel. Also, it's the first one as you enter the strip on Waikiki, so if you take any tours, you are the first one picked up and the first one dropped off.
I absolutely loved Kauai. We went in August and had gorgeous weather. It does rain there practically every day, but the weather changed so rapidly that when it did rain it was over in minutes. We stayed at the Marriot Beach Club and had an ocean view. It was an awesome hotel. I also have heard very good things about the Hyatt. We liked Kaui the best and plan to go back soon.
If you really want to go to Oahu, 2 or 3 days is more than enough; spend extra time in Maui. 3 days isn't enough for Kauai or Maui, but it is for Oahu. In our short stay, we went up North to the Polynesian center, did Pearl Habor, and walked waikiki.
There are more activities to do on Maui and you can also do a quick side trip to the Big Island, but if you want a more relaxing, more Hawaiin honeymoon, Kaui is really wonderful.
Another girl in my office just came back rom her Hawaii honeymoon and she did Oahu, Kauai and Maui, too, and she liked Maui best for the action and variety but thought Kaui was the most gorgeous.
Re: For those of you who have gone to Hawaii on your honeymoon.....
I didn't stay there on my honeymoon, but we used to go there when I was a kid (dad worked for American Airlines...and got a deal there) and it really beutiful...I went back to HI a few years ago and it was mostly closed down b/c they completely redid it!! It should be fabulous...
its also nice, b/c while its in Waikiki...its a little bit away from the hub and center (good for honeymoon), but you are still in walking distance to the Waikiki action...
have a great time...

Re: For those of you who have gone to Hawaii on your honeymoon.....
We stayed at the Hilton Hawaian Village in the Ali tower. It was a good tower to stay in. You have your own door man and conceirge. There is a pool just for this tower...which is good b/c the main pool has tons of families. They have a free buffet/cocktail hour daily for ALi guests. We stayed two full days. We went to Pearl Harbor and spent the rest of the time at the resort. THe shops weren't as great as they make them out to be. THe beach was crowded and you had to pay for everything- a towel, a float, a chair you name it. We went there last and we were so used to being pampered at the four seasons in Maui. So instead of the beach, we hung out at the Ali pool and we were happy. We got upgraded b/c our travel agent wrote we were on our honeymoon. We also went to Kaui for 6 days and stayed at the Hyatt. It doesn't rain there as much as it does on the Princeville side of the island. We thought Kaui was beautiful and peaceful. The helicopter ride on Kaui was amazing and so were the hikes. I don't horseback ride but I heard people enjoy it there. YOu'll love Hawaii no matter where you stay or what islands you visit. I wish I was going!!! Have fun.
