If you had an engagement party - what kind of gifts did you appreciate getting (besides $$)??
SIL's eparty is at the end of the month & I dont want to give them $$ - but they dont have a registry yet & they live together, so they pretty much have everything they could need.

What about a gift card to a restaurant they like or for services (like a mani/pedi or massage)?
We didn't live together before the wedding, but I'm trying to think of things we'd like now since we've been living together a while. I'd still like a gift card from Target or BB&B -- I could always buy more things lol.
Are they sports fans? You could get them tickets to a game?
I'm sure they'll appreciate whatever you decide to give them -- it's the thought that counts!

I got my best friend a couple's massage at the Village Spa in Roslyn. It included lunch, so it was a nice day for them and a little more thoughtful.

Honestly... at that point I mostly appreciated money! It was by far the best gift because it started us off with a cushion to start saving money for the wedding!! The E party money I received was the kick off to saving!! I feel like the thing they need the MOST is money for the wedding.
Is there a particular reason you don't want to give cash?
If so... then I'd say what the others have said... gift cards to restaurants, spa GC, what about a Channa plaque or something to that effect??

we did not live together at the time of our engagment party, and even if we did i wouldnt have used anything...
cuz im a dork and believe is superstiions i heard that its bad luck to use anything on your registry before you are married...lol
so even when we moved in together before the wedding, we didnt use anything till after we were married.

WOW Jess!! That must have taken some will power!! I ripped open my punch bowl set IMMEDIATELY!! and used it for after the shower (I had people over). hahaha!! There was other stuff I ripped open too and used!!!
There was a lot of things I didn't use from the shower until well after we were married, after we moved actually. But that was just because there was no room for it... so it stayed packed in boxes piled up! haha!! now everything has a place and I use it all!!!

I dont know why i dont want to give $$, just impersonal i guess.. But yes, you are right about it being a nice jumping off to saving for the wedding.
I was thinking about the Channa plaque, but i dont think i have enough time.

Money was most appreciated since we were saving for the wedding at that time. But besides that I recieved all my important things, cake topper, toasting flutes, guest book ect. from members of my bridal party. I also got a few frames from Things Remembered engraved with either the engagement party date or our wedding date. Also from Things Remembered, a marriage certificate holder that I really love.
