For those on BC

For those on BC

I have been taking Yasmin for about 7 or 8 years now. No problems and not looking to switch as I will probably be off it in 2 years from now. So I went to a new GYNO last night and she was writing my prescription for Yasmin and told me there is a Generic for Yasmin that she will write up for me instead.

Is anyone of the Yasmin generic pill? I'm a little nervous about taking it. They told me it's the same thing, but I don't want any problems since I have been fine the last 7-8 years! I also don't want any unexpected pregnancies!!!

Thanks for the fast response! If my old doctor prescribed it, I wouldn't be so nervous. This is a new doctor so it concerned me. I recently heard about the generic, but didn't think anything about it until it was prescribed.

I've also almost always used generics. They're the same thing. And cheaper which is the best part.

I'm taking it right now!!! This is my first pack of pills..Im on week two.. I was on Yasmin for 7 years also...I decided to try the generic, the pharmacist said there would likely be no difference...no complaints so far!!!
Yasmin was the best by the way.... I was on 3 different pills before I found that one!!
Let me know if you have any other questions!!!

I Love Yasmin!! Been on it forever! I have never taken the generic brand, but my dr tried to give me Yaz and it made me too nervous to switch. But I have taken generic brands of other stuff and they were fine, so I don't think it's a big difference in the effects- I think it just costs less. Which is always a good thing
