For those storing wedding mementos - question on pics

For those storing wedding mementos - question on pics

I'm currently on the hunt for a decent shadow box-type storage piece for all of my wedding things - program, sample invite, and small mementos.

But I'm wondering exactly what to do with all my amateur pictures? Is everyone putting them in a separate album, or are you mixing them into your shadow boxes, or something similar?

Ideas are welcome

I'm probably the wrong person to answer this since I am the LEAST crafty person on Earth, but I have my amateur pictures in a Lenox album, seperate from my prof. pictures.

Teri,
I haven't made it to Michaels yet this week-how about you?
I have a few snapshots that I really love enough to display full time. The rest will go into photo boxes or albums. My Mom took all of my snapshots about 2 months ago so I haven't really done anything for them yet!

I have a few pictures around the house in smaller frames, and a Pottery Barn 9 hole frame on the wall. In addition, I'll have a few more on the wall from the photographer, so I'm good with my display - don't want to look concieded or anything!

I have a few rolls of film between my shower, b-party, RD and wedding. It'd probably be easiest to just put them in a nice album, but wondered what my options are.

Richsbride - I'm going to try and hit Michaels tomorrow. I even have a coupon for 40% off 1 item

have all the informal pics- ones from the rehearsal dinner, rob getting ready, etc in a separate album.

WE are approaching our 3rd anniv...so I dont have a lot of wedding picsaroudn the house. have one professionally made up portrait- us in sepai- with each parents' wedding portrait flanking it...hung above our fireplace.

One outside portrait on my nightstand...and one photo of robs mom and my 2 sils and her little one ...on a desk .

I'm not crafty enuf to do shadow boxes...plus I guess the excitedness of showing wedding pics has passed me by!

I have this shadowbox:

sitting in my living room empty for the past 2 months. Im waiting to get my wedding scrapbook together to decide what I want to put in it. But I will probably use:
a) 1 photo of the wedding
2) our toasting flutes if they fit
3) program
4) Save the Date
5) Invitation
6) A dried flower or two from my bouqeut
and whatever else I can fit in there.

I also got two of these small nickel cubes and have NO clue what to put in them. They are too small for our toasting flutes are not sealed so I cant use them for flowers or anything like that. But they match the shadow box. Ideas?

Re: For those storing wedding mementos - question on pics

I want to get a covered shadow box for my bouquet, so it's protected from dust, but I have to find one tall enough - my bouquet is about 12 inches tall. I plan to put all my other things (programs, RD invite, etc) in the shadow box, but I'm not sure exactly where I'll hang it - if anywhere. I really want something more for storage, rather than to show off my things - I'd love to keep looking at our wedding pics but not so much my wedding programs and all! LOL

Stef - not sure about those boxes - they look like they're more suitable for figurines or other collectible-type displays. Maybe you can put your favors in there - that should fit nicely. Not sure what else though.....

Where did you find your shadow boxes?

Those boxes are a little too big for the favors plus I dont have any of the Cds left over :(

I got them from the container store (actually, luke got them for me) www.containerstore.com
