For those who have picked up their negatives..

Does the photographer sign something turning over the copy rights to us? I just picked up our album yestreday, and we have to wait 6 months now for the negatives....but what happens then? Will places give me a hard time if I want to make copies with the negatives?

we cant pick ours up for a year! thats because they want to try and get you to buy pics fromthem and not copy from negatives! i know, what a pain!

Once you have the negatives you will be able to have copies made almost anywhere without any hassle. That is why the photographers usually make you wait 1 year and then pay for the negatives, they want the money you will spend for reprints before turning the negatives over to you.

Once you get them they are yours for life

I think that the biggest problem is that since they are a different size than the negatives from a 35mm camera, you have to take them to a photography store to get pictures made. You can't just take them to CVS photo counter.

we have our egatives already and as was already mentioned, they are differnet size and must be made at a photoshop which of course, costs more $$ too.....its still cheaper since you don't opay the middle man though but not as cheap as the local drugstore!

Wow! You got your album already!? We haven't even picked the pictures yet. We are sooo lame. We get our negatives right away, though. She said we can have them as soon as the albums are done. That is, if they ever get done.

learned on the BHB that there is a negatiev scanner, maybe around 200 bucks!!! Im going to check into this, because I have great software to fix up pictures,,,,I used it to make my nudey shots for Dex and he still thinks a pro took them. So my plan is to buy the scanner and do the photos myself. When I buy it, I will let you know how they come out!!!
