For those who were married on site...

I am a teacher and want my students to attend my ceremony. Do you think that will be a problem because it is at flowerfield? Cocktails start right after the ceremony.

I think that is really cute to have your students to come to the ceremony but they might not want to leave after

Its very sweet of you to want them there, but it will be awkward when some of your guests are getting food, drinks, etc and the students will have to leave. Maybe speak with your banquet manager and see if they have suggestions on how to handle it.

I think it may be awkward as well - especially because the children will probably have their parents with them.

I dont think it should be a problem at all.

Just think about how you should 'word it' if you are giving the students some type of invite.
I think thats a sweet idea ! GO FOR IT !
Flowerfield will work with you on that. Florinda is great !

Thanks ladies. I will talk to my banquet manager and see what the deal is.

Christy,
What grade are they in? If they're young then they'll have at least one parent w/them too. It could end up being a lot of extra people. On location ceremonies usually go right into cocktail in the next room or whatever so it might be tricky if they don't leave right away. It's really your choice but maybe they could watch your video in class with you.

They are 6 years old, so parents will be there for sure. I may have to just show them the video.

My friend who is also a teacher had her kids sing - it was so memorable!

What did they sing? That sounds adorable!

Christy, I didn't get married on site, but I did send a note home inviting each child and their family to our ceremony. If you'd like a copy of it for ideas, please let me know.

Christy
I am a teacher and I was married onsite. I was a fraid that it would be awkward if the kids and families came and then had to leave, especially since the wedding was about an hour from where I taught. I sent a letter home, inviing each family to the ceremony, explaining the situation, and the start and end time of the ceremony. As it turned out, some of the families did come just for the ceremony and it worked out fine. Good luck
