Forget DMV and SS try changing your frequent flyer name!

GAAH!

I do not understand why it is more difficult to change my name on my frequent flyer accounts than it was to change my name on my credit cards! Some places (like American) can take the info over the phone - Delta made me fax my new license and for Continental I have to MAIL (as in snail-mail) a copy of my marriage license!!??!!!

I guess they take their free flights seriously - what a pain in the @&!# !!

Ok back to it now that I vented..

I hear ya! I had the same problem with Southwest. They wanted me to mail an official copy of my marriage license along with my Rapid Rewards card. So I had to forfeit my card before I was issued a new one.

I never ended up doing it. My driver's license has my maiden name as my middle name and I continue to fly SWA under my maiden name. I have never been stopped by security.
