French Theme

I'm having some girlfriends over and I'm trying to do a french theme. What are some food items I could make? I'm thinking mini-quiches, brie puffs and tapanade, but what else?

YES! with nutella and strawberries! yum!

You can make a crepe station, the girls can choose what fillings they want, strawberries, bananas, walnuts, cookies, whipped cream etc...

you can wrap brie in Phillo (sp?) dough, brush with olive oil and bake in the oven at 375 for about 20 mins. While that's baking, take a cup of Brown sugar & a half stick of butter and melt together in a sauce pot... if you want you can add pecans to the mix and candy coat them. Once the Brie is done pour the brown sugar mixture over the Brie! SOOOO GOOD!

It's called Brie En Croute!

Ok, question about that baked brie:

Use a big round brie? Take the white outside off of it or no? How do you serve this? with crackers?

Re: French Theme

you could do cheese fondue, crepes, cream puffs, canapes, mushroom caps, bread crisps

you can do baked brie - wrap it in puffed pastry and pinch the ends on the top, brush with egg (you can also put fruit inside with the cheese when you bake it. eat with crackers, fork or fingers

my old roommate used to make baked brie and it was seriously amazing- she sometimes put raspberries with it- I'll email her and see about the white outside not sure

ok confusing- either way. she said cheese connaisseurs would never remove the rind, she said she always does because it makes it more attractive when you bake it- she said it sometimes bubbles and comes out ugly.

so its your call!
