I get along with all of DH's wives/gf except his twin brother's- which makes life difficult for everyone involved.
I can't stand one of DH's friends and his wife. They are very irritating and talk non-stop about themselves. They also got married 2 months after us and tried to 'one-up' everything we did. Plus they completely copied our HM. I'm still fuming over that!! I try to avoid hanging out with them at all costs.
We just had a discussion about this last night. DH does not liek a few of my friend's husbands and does not want to hang out with them, which is sometimes awkward and frustrating for me. In one case, I try to just spend time with my friend with out husbands, but at times it can be difficult to handle. On the one hand, I don't want to make him go all the time, but sometimes I want him with me. We still haven't really come up with a good solution, but at least we can talk about it.
ha ha...this is a great topic...it's about compromise and limits, just space out the get togethers so you aren't seeing them back to back that way the both of you can be some what up to dealing with the other halves, you never know the wives or husbands may get better after awhile. My husbands wife was really boring at first and I had to really drag myself to spend time, but then I think she loosened up a bit and this past weekend we went to their house for a BBQ and I had her doing cart wheels, meanwhile she's like 15 years older than I am.....I thought that was cool!!
