Frustrated...with clothes!

Frustrated...with clothes!

Ok sooo..like many of my fellow newlyweds,, I fell off the diet/excercise wagon. I still feel I LOOK fine, but getting into clothes I like..not so much.

I tried on 30 dresses this weekend..yep TIIRTY and none of them fit, mostly because of the issue of the distance in inches between my hips and my waist. Like many, I have wiiiide hips and small upper body so I really need to buy a size 4/6 to cover my hips and budunk a dunk but Im a size 0 or 2 on top I can't afford any more frickin tailoring and I have to find a sexy party dress thats not outrageously expensive for New Years-we're going to a fancy resturant. It's actually the place where DH wanted to have the wedding; The Manor in NJ. Its really dressy; guys cant even take off their jackets. We NEVER go nywhere fancy so I wanted to WOW his socks off a little. LOL not working very well!

Sooo I have been to Ann taylor and White House/Black Market already (my two fave stores for dressy) and nada. Anywhere else anyoen reccomend?

Hmm thats where I was thinking of going because I have coupons for Macys that end today. I'll try there I guess, This was the dress I wanted from white house black Market, but no dice unfortunately lmao. Couldn't slide the 2 or 4 down and the 6 had enough room in the top for a very intimate buddy.

What about Lord & Taylor - they have a great dress department and with sales, good prices.

Re: Frustrated...with clothes!

I just got an e-mail with a 20% off coupon for this week, starting Thursday.
Would you like it ? Just FM me your e-mail.
You work around the Grand Central area - there's the flagship store on 5th Ave and 39th street.
You would be surprised - the prices are really good.

Crashing your board...

I have the same problem. I find halter dresses work best b/c then I can tie them real tight and it fits my upper body better. I do good at Macy's too!

Re: Frustrated...with clothes!

Went to Macy's-no dice. They ahd amazing sales and I found THE dress...31.99!!!!!!!! BUT after it was rung up and the girl tried to zip it up for me...zipper BROKE!!! I know I know..better in the store than home but there went my dress!

Im so aggravated. EVEYRTHING Seems to be a fricking babydoll...HELLO..NO boobs and more to love on my lower end=NO BABYDOLSL lol. I tried..I tried on about 15 and by the last one I looked Heavenward and said 'Yes God, I am finally listening. These are not for me.'

The non baby dolls weren't sexy. I dont want to wear pants but that looks like what is going to happen..BAH!

And I was going to do that but the salelady said a new zipepr would cost me almost as much as the dress! Bah she probably wnated to keep it for herself lmoa. She was admiring it. Oh well...

It wasn't 'The' dress. 'The' dress is still out there..sheesh buying my WEDDING dress wasn't this hard!

And once more I must ask..what is WITH the babydoll trend? Don't these designers know how friendly a SEAM can be!!

PS Yea the Manor is great-we've been there once before years ago for his bday-parents took us out. The manor is literally behind his parents house-if you walk through the woods and up the hill you walk into their fencing.

This was my rehearsal dinner dress. I so love it because I can use it again.

Jenn,
I would look in NY & Co. They have nice dresses in there. Express also has nice dresses in there. Macys always have nice dresses in there.
There's Bebe but I don't know about their clothes. I used to see stuff I liked in there but now I haven't seen anything I fell in love with. I trying to think of other stores.
