FUN LIL UPDATE AT BOTTOM: I am so mad at my MIL - Sorry super long
All of my 07 girls know what a PITA she has been. Well, the wedding threw me over the edge. One, she never called to ask how my grandmother was doing prior to the wedding. She almost died a few days before and couldn't call to ask?!? The day of the wedding, she never congratulated me and DH. She just said to me in the hall in the snottiest tone, 'So how does it feel to be a Stoop now young lady?' Is that supposed to be my congratulations? At the end of the wedding, she gave the leftover CPs to her friends. She didn't ask if I wanted one, or if anyone from my family wanted one. Then the next day DH went over there and she bitched him out, saying she was disgusted with the wedding. Oh wait, her reasons are real good:
1. The CH was too long. We had an extra half hour because of the times of the ceremony and reception, but hey, we were excited about it because the best food is at the CH.
2. Her and FIL felt out of place. Ummm, only you could make yourselves feel out of place.
3. She should have been more involved in the planning. She was the ONLY one I let have anything to do with the wedding. I like to do things alone because then they get done my way and done right. It's my wedding, not yours. Just because her mother planned her wedding for her umpteen million years ago doesn't mean she has the right to plan mine.
4. She barely saw us at the wedding. Ummm, hello, we're the bride and groom. We're not supposed to sit and chit chat with you at your table. DH and I went around to all the tables, and when I got to hers she wasn't interested so I walked away after telling her the CPs she made were beautiful and everyone was raving about them and that I hoped she was enjoying herself. And I gave her a kiss on the cheek.
5. The photog didn't take enough pictures of them. She actually went up to him and asked how many shots he took of them. He said between 50 and 75 and she told him it wasn't enough. The woman has nerve.
6. The DJ didn't play a song she requested. That's because he was told not to! By ME, the BRIDE! We gave him specific instructions prior to the wedding.
7. My Mom made snotty comments to her. Ummm, my Mom thanked her for giving DH and I such a beautiful day and asked FIL to dance like MIL had requested early on in the planning. She's psycho.
And then she told DH to enjoy the F-ing HM and slammed the door on him.
Then her bday was while we were on our HM. So at our last florist appointment I arranged for a dozen and a half lilac roses be delivered to her. No call or e-mail to say thanks. No call or e-mail to see if we made it home okay. DH decided to be the bigger person and call her the day after and she just bitched about how his brother didn't call or send anything. Oh, and she wanted to know how much money we got for the wedding. Like it's any of her business. We gave FIL a list of what their guests gave because they asked for it. That's all you need to know. Supposedly she said thank you then for the roses, but I don't believe it. I think DH is just trying to diffuse the situation.
DHs brother and his fiance don't bother with her, so I've always tried to make her feel included in our lives. But she gets so intrusive, despite making her toast at the RD to tell everyone that she stays out of our lives. Yeah, I guess asking if we got our banking in order, why DH doesn't work more OT, where our money goes, etc. is staying out of our lives. I'm so done with it. I want to write her an e-mail so bad, but I'm holding back. I don't know what would be better.
