Re: Fun with Photoshop...
Shamma - I think it's Blurry background vs. Clear! Stef ... my brother studied illustration and design in school - he lives on photoshop and all those illustration programs, I can ask him, if you'd like!

Coooool!
Shamma, look at the difference in the backgrounds. The original shots show the subject and everything else in focus. Stef touched them up so that the backgrounds are blurred. It really makes the subject 'pop out'.
I don't have any experience playing with Photoshop- I'm not sure what capabilities it has-so no suggestions for other effects. Just wanted to compliment!

Stef, I love the effect of the first one, that looks great, I know you were looking for ideas on how to use that black and white in the background and color some where else, great choice!

Re: Fun with Photoshop...
Was there another bridal party coming towards you in that first pic?

Re: Fun with Photoshop...
Stef - I love the combo color/black and white shot. What kind of printer are you using to print the photo? I am curious how it will look once you've printed it. Please let me know the results. That's a great shot to frame I think...and the one with the petals. Beautiful!

Yep! That is a another bridal party coming towards us :D We stopped and congratulated each other for a minute. Our photographers even knew each other :D
Claud: I havent printed any of them...just playing around with the digital for my website.
Teri: I want the books that give me direction on how to do great effects with the program. I already have the program.

Re: Fun with Photoshop...
I used Photoshop Elements (a scaled down but more user friendly version of Adobe Photoshop). I got the software FREE with my digital camera.

Re: Fun with Photoshop...
Very nice. You should take a one day class for Photoshop, I'm looking into it myself. I think it would be so worth it especially that you have a creative flair already. I recently was turned onto Photoshop from one of my fellow GeoParent Mommies and I have been playing with pics of the baby alot. Photoshop is the most powerful software of it's type so you can really have fun with it.
Oops, I did mean to suggest something else to try. Play with some of the choices under 'Filter' - here's another pic (of my favorite subject of course ) - I chose Film Grain from the Artistic subheading. It's a bit distorted here b/c I had to resize it to less than 50KB, but it'll give you an idea of how it comes out.
