I'm looking for recommendations for furniture shops on Long Island (or NYC). My taste leans towards country and cozy wood and upholstry, not modern chrome and leather.
I'm familiar with the Ethan Allen store on Sunrise in Islip and I recall seeing some nice places along Northern Blvd. around Great Neck and Port Washington areas but don't recall what was there.
So.... let's hear your favorite places to shop for furniture!
Thanks...

Furniture?
Ok, this is my department . If you go to Route 110 in Farmingdale, you can hit just about every big name furniture store. We call it furniture row...lol. There is Seamans, Levitz, Huffman Koos, Siegermans, Thomasville, etc. I also lean towards warm woods and bought all my furniture here.

Pottery Barn
I love the fabric choices at Pottery Barn - you can always try there.

Furniture? There is shopping and then there is buying..
On LI 110 probably has the most concentrated group of furniture shops. But when it comes to buying I suggest you try Furniture Land South in NC www.furniturelandsouth.com .
I found my bedroom furniture in Sigermens on 110 and a piece for the foyer at Drexel Heretage then priced them at Furniture Land South. Well the savings were unbeliveable! You are charged for shipping but no tax. They deliver and set everthing up.
You speak to a sales consultant who will send you pictures and fabric samples. All you need is the manufactures name and the style.
Happy shopping.

One option
That we have been using and is well worth it--find the furniture you like and then try to get it from the Carolinas--many of the manufacturers are online now-- an example--our bedroom at Huffman Koos was $6K --getting it from NC-- under $4K--def worth it--or at least looking into

Furniture?
I work on the Levitz Furniture account here at the advertising agency. They are owned by the same holding company as Seaman''s. Take a look at those two- even if it is just for ideas- and let me know if anything catches your fancy.
Who knows? Maybe I can help.

Try the Country Manor Furniture in Rocky Point. They have a great selection
