WARNING: This is LONG!!
We have been having major problems with Huffman Koos. We are still having problems with pieces that were ordered back in February, and initially delivered to us in April. Maybe the manufacturer just has problems making these particular pieces .. but nothing has been easy for us with them, from the 'Customer Service' to the Delivery Service to the After Delivery Service to all the so-called 'supervisors' I've managed to get hold of on the phone. Over the past few months, as friends have found out about our nightmare, we've heard back from a few people how they too had problems with Huffman Koos. We thought we were making a good choice by going there because we were under the impression they sold quality furniture. Now we regret it. Although, I do admit, I love the couches we got from them .. but they were the only pieces that came without problems.
No matter where you go, make sure you inspect the pieces very carefully when they are delivered to you, as you will be spending good money for pieces that should last you for years. If you accept the pieces, then notice a problem, chances are the store will want a technician to go out and verify the claim before any action is taken. We found this out the hard way, and the technician schedule was like the delivery schedule, where they tell you a 4-hour window rather than giving you an exact appointment, or approximate appointment. (I don't consider a 4-hour timeframe to be approximate.) Inspect everything.
One final piece of advice before ordering from anywhere .. ask what their delivery schedule is, like what days they go out, what kind of hours they typically deliver between, etc.
What we had really liked about Huffman Koos when we ordered our funiture was the 'carefree' financing deal they had going on at the time. Unlike many other places, they do not accrue interest if you finance the furniture, meaning if you still have a balance on your account when the 0% financing timeframe runs out, you are not slapped with the interest dating all the way back from when you were initially billed, you are only charged interest on the portion left on the account when the deadline passes. We thought that was a nice selling point. Unfortunately for us, time is ticking away and our problems are still not resolved, though the store would probably claim they are working on it.
my friend went looking for furniture, found what she liked and got the name of the manufacturer, searched on the web and found it , they delivered it to her and it was half the cost of the store in total. it's beautiful and was not damaged. sometimes this works out better to save you alot of money!
