can we talk about how our gas bill was over $700 for the past 2 months!!!!!!!!
i mean yes, granted the past 2 months we have had some REALLLLLY cold nights... but we ALWAYS turn the heat down to 60 before leaving the house for the day AND before we go to bed at night... the only time its at 68/70 is on the weekends when we are home all day
i am now sitting here refusing to turn the heat on over 60.... my nose is FREEZING haha
anyone else experience this crazyness?? we have natural gas

We don't have natural gas, but we were paying 800/month for oil before we got our thermostat, and we were in the city all day long.

Is natural gas 'National Grid'? How is your bill that high?! That's completely insane! Our National Grid bill every month is $191. We are on their 'budget' plan. Do you have an option like that? We also got a programmable t-stat to help us keep costs a little lower.

yes its national grid.
usually our bill is about that much too... but for the longest time they have been giving us 'estimated' readings... and they finally came to do a reading and it was THAT much for 2 months.
they do have an option to do a payment plan thing... and we would be doing that if we werent getting our tax $$ in like a week

we live in a cottage, so I feel your pain....there is no insulation in here. we are doing the same thing with the heat and i have cold toes. we are going through 100 gals of oil every 2 wks.
