Okay ladies, I hate to admit it, but I'm at a loss for gift ideas for my new husband *blush*!
He has plenty of digital camera stuff and computer stuff, we have a really nice stereo system and a big screen TV.
This is totally unlike me - I'm usually really good at finding just the right gift. This is our first newlywed Christmas and I'm so upset that I can't think of anything original. Help!

Since we're buying a new house.....
Home Depot here I come!!!!
Actually, we decided there is so much we'll need for the house that we will be getting each other house-related gifts for awhile. :-) Maybe a BBQ Grill...
And since the Yankee's didn't win the world series I can't get the annual commemorative shot glass he's gotten for the past 4 years.

Gift ideas...what are you getting your husband?
I started shopping today...what a madhouse! This probably won't help you at all, but hubby is and ex Navy boy, sooooooo I started out with a bunch of USN paraphenelia. He is also a HUGE football fan, so I started getting him some Miami Dolphin stuff too (and he's from Buffalo, don't ask). I just bought him a digicam last month for our one year anniversary, and we just spent lots of $$$$ this year on furniture, so we decided that neither of us really needed or wanted anything big for now. Anyway, does he have any hobbies? Is he a sports fan? Maybe a weekend away?

Gift ideas...what are you getting your husband?
I bought my husband a whole bunch of stuff this year -- but lots of little fun things. I did get him some clothes - but he likes to get clothes. The annual set of new boxers, a book on beer making kits, the Shrek DVD, a calendar that has all different Hawaiin Shirts for each month, a bunch of fun corny and useful things. Also got him some stuff for the grill because he loves his grill.
We enjoy opening up a bunch of little things rather than going crazy on one gift. Of course I say that and watch him get me something major -- and I'll feel like 10' high. :-)

We go with one major and a few minor gifts each year...last year it was a telescope for our new back yard. This year I'm going for a fancy humidor for his occasional cigar habit! And a bunch of clothes, golf stuff, hockey stuff...

what are you getting your husband* Coal - Bah Humbug!
Only kidding!
I really have no idea this year. Money is tight as my Hubby isn't working and we are trying to save for a house so its not going to be anything extravagant.

As a gag... (and other thoughts)
I saw in one of the dozens of catalogs we`ve received over the past month a couple of places that sell small sacks of coal .. which are really candy. As a gag, I was going to buy a few, and secretly leave them on people`s desks at work! :)
As for my husband, well, we kind of went overboard and a simple thought of 'maybe' looking at some widescreen projection tvs turned into his mission, and that is going to be our gift, with a little help from my in-laws. But, I also wanted to surprise my husband with a telescope. He`s been wanting one of those for a while. Last year, among other things, I surprised him with the best Islander seats I could get, right down around center ice. Talk about overpriced!! They were something like $70 a piece, but he was thrilled with it. How are families supposed to afford taking the kids to a game, when the cheapest seats (all the way up) go for about $35??
What kind of things does your husband like to do? There are a couple of catalogs I really like that we`ve gotten this year .. www.gifts.com and www.normthompson.com .. both have some really unique things.

Thought of a stocking stuffer....
Hubby has always wanted one of those post-mounted beer bottle openers for a deck or bar. I think I'll get one for his stocking if I can find one.
He's always been a very patriotic guy so I was also thinking about a flag pole for our yard till I found out they were not in this years budget. Now I'm thinking of a wall-mounted flag bracket and pole.

Gift ideas..what I`m getting my hubby
He`s getting a DVD player and the new Godfather DVD set that came out. He did not 'hint' around for this but he has said that the Godfather is his favorite movie and they have all that extra stuff of DVD`s so I hope he likes it. He did hint around for new sneakers and my Mother is getting them for him. He actually had the gall to want to buy a pair the other day! I reminded him that it`s not right to buy yourself something that Santa might bring so now he thinks I`m getting them for him. LOL I gave him 2 hints of things I wouldn`t mind receiving but I don`t know what he`s up to...

I bet your rings are beautiful -- and what a nice reminder of your trip. Get some little things -- at least you can have fun opening up a few little things.

well- I got a little bit of a hint. I actually got to go to costco this weekend.
He was looking at something for the computer- and Uniterruptible Power Source...waiting to hear from a friend for his opinion.
I am hopefully off at the end of the week- so I can make a quick run without him knowing.

Gift ideas...what are you getting your husband?
Doe you new husband like any sports or a certain type of music. I sometime get my husband even before we were married tickets to a sporting event( i.e. jet game , giants, hockey) or to a concert I know he would like. THe trick is I get him 3 or more and let him go with the guys. No matter how much he loves you he still will miss hanging out with the guys.

Great website to find a gift
surprise.com. They have everything. I was thinking of a stock car race certificate for my man.
