I have been feeling sooo depressed since after we got home from our honeymoon. I am so confused about it. I know I am homesick (lived at home with my parents until my wedding day) and I just feel so sad and I miss my family even though they are only like 20 mins away. Did anybody else feel like this? I feel like I dont know what to do with myself.

Re: Girls, really need some advice
You are too cute. This is normal and it happens to a lot of people. My best friend cried herself to sleep for a few days after she got married b/c she missed her family so much.
I think you need to just give it time - it is just a matter of getting used to.

I can relate...I was the same way the first week after I got home from my honeymoon, but I have to say it does get better with time. I cried everytime I saw my parents and after I left to go home I would be depressed and sad all night. I also lived with them until my wedding day and I'm really close with them, so I think it was normal for me to feel this way. But everyday it got better and now that I've been married three weeks I feel much better...I still miss them alot but I love being married and living with my DH in our own apartment. Trust me it will get better very soon

You are definitely not alone. Our first week home and back to 'reality,' I cried every day. I even cried at work. I missed my family so much. I couldn't control myself. But it does get better. My mom told me to start setting up our house to make it feel more like home. And it definitely helped. I still get sad every once in a while but at least it's not a constant thing. Hope you feel better soon.

aww---i understand how you feel. i was on my own for awhile and moved back in with my parents a little over 5 years ago to save $$. so when i moved in with DH just before the wedding (like 2 wks) it was so weird coming home to just him.
there is a definite adjustment time--but you will be okay after awhile...i promise! now i come home and i'm happy its just DH and i and our cat!

You are definitly not alone. It is an adjustment but this is definitely one of those times where time does help. I was the same way when I got back from my honeymoon and once a routine was settled with my DH, I don't have those issues anymore. I do miss my family, but I don't mind being just DH and I.

I know exactly how you feel. The wedding was so much planning and time, and I really enjoyed each and every step along the way. Once the wedding was over and we were home from our HM, I got a little depressed. I realized that I had so much time I had to find things to do with my time. I had to find things to do to pass my time and that is when I became hooked on this site. Enjoy your new life with DH. Good thing your family is still close by. Keep your spirits up!

I was Really Sad when I first Moved out. I left my Parents, younger brother, grandmother, and family dog.
The very first night, DH (boyfriend at the time) we went back to my house to be with everyone.
I can just imagine with your situation, being with all these emtions from the wedding being over & the HM being over.
I was very Sad also.
I just thinking to myself...that this is just the begining of our lives together...With so much More Good Memories to come.

Re: Girls, really need some advice
There is def. adjustment time....you need to let yourself go through it. I cried the day after my wedding....it was the first night of not being in my bed, in my house w/ my family...I was sad, I think everyone goes through it at one point or another. My Dad is such a hugger that I think I was going to miss his hugs all the time (sounds so silly) but it's those things you miss not necessarily being away from them but you'll see how quickly it blows over and HOW MUCH YOU LOVE LOVE living w/ DH and coming home to his hugs instead!!
