I think I hae a herniated disc and boy does it hurt!!!! With something like that, would you go see a primary care physician or would I have to go to a specialist? I don't want to waste my time by going to the wrong doc and I have never had to go to one for my back! Thanks!

Re: Girls with back problems...
Go to an Orthopedic surgeon. That is where I was sent yesterday. I have two MRI's this week... I went to my reg. doctor first and she sent me there.

I have a herinated disk on my right side. It usually hurts because it's sitting on a nerve that's the pain you feel down your leg. I go to an Orthopedist and since the pain was so bad I get these pain injections into my spine, they're not pleasant but they make a world of difference.

don't go to an orthopedist!!! go to a neurosurgeon. it doesn't mean you have to get surgery, they will give you either Physical therapy, or anti inflammatories. everyone has herniated discs, the pain is from it pinching on a nerve.
