Girls with PCOS..

Girls with PCOS..

I contemplated about posting this, b/c I know eventually I will just have to go to gyno, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had the same thing going on.

Ever since 2 weeks ago, Thursday my stomach has been bothering me. At first I wasn't hungry at all, and couldn't even force myself to eat. I thought I was just stressed from that weekend of the wedding thing. Then I kept having to go to the bathroom a lot. Not #1 .

Then my appetite came back, and I noticed that I was bleeding a bit, but nothing enough for a tampon or w/e.

So bottom line is I am still bleeding here and there, but when I use something , I go to check later on and there is nothing!!! Every now and then I will see some spotting, but it's like 2-3 times a day and that's all. I don't have any cramps, but my back was hurting me all of last week so I figured I would be getting it, but nothing. Then I thought maybe I had a kidney infection, but I didn't have the urgency to go to the bathroom so I didn't think that was it.

Has anyone had this problem before with the PCOS??? I don't get my period normally as it is, and now I am hardly getting it at all. It's different every time I get it. If it continues by the end of the week I will make an appointment, but I just thought it was really odd.

Sorry for the TMI, but I know some of you girls here have this and may be able to help. Thanks!

I do not have PCOS but have had my share of issues in that area, so I just want to give you some of those.

I have pcos and am not on bc, so my period is irregular. I never know when it will come. Aunt Flow is never kind to me, she always comes with a vengeance and is very heavy for at least 5-7 days. I would call you obgyn and make an appoint for the end of the week, if it stops you can always cancel.

That's exactly what happens to me. I know I need to get on the pill, I am just worried about gaining weight and all that stuffs.

I was on the pill for years, it didn't make me gain weight, I actually gained when I went off because with pcos the pill helps regulate your hormones actually helping you to loose weight. Have you blood tested and ask about metaformin which has helped me some.

Yaz is a good pill, and it s not suppose to make you gain weight, also whenever this happens to me i always take a pregnancy test just to be safe I dont mean to scare you loli just get paranoid!

i had the same bleeding probablem and it wouldn't last but my reason was i was on a low does pill that wasnt working for me.

I am due for a check up anyway, so I will make an appointment and see about getting the BCP b/c I think I remember hearing about the PCOS and the hormones making it hard to lose weight. So that makes sense.

Good to know, I will ask about that then. :) Thank you too!

I have PCOS but I've never had a problem like that before. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful! I do notice around that time of the month my bathroom habits do change quite a bit though. But if you want to compare ovary stories/problems some other time, let me know!

I've been on ortho tri-cyclen and that was great. No mood changes, no weight gain. I actually lost 30 pounds. I was also taking flutimide and before that spironolactone and they're supposed to help if you produce too much testosterone as a side effect. There's also metformin which is supposed to be helpful for insulin resistance. But you'll probably need to see a reproductive endo for these Rx's because they're off label for PCOS.

We're TTC soon so I had to go off all of my meds. I'm nervous what that'll do!

Re: Girls with PCOS..

Are any of those BCP helpful in banishing the growth of 'unwanted' hair lol

I have hair on my chin and I hateee it.

Does BCP get rid of that?

They say BCP helps with that but I don't think so. Laser hair removal is the best option. I know they have a cream called vaniqa (I think), but I never tried it.

It definitely helps A LOT. I've noticed that when I skip a month of BCP or the flutimide, there's definitely more growth.

I've done the laser hair removal on my chin and it does help but they'll even tell you when you go in that it's tricky with girls with PCOS and the hair might (and probably will) grow back. I got my sideburns done and that was permanent but it wasn't as effective on my chin. I'm gonna try the laser again since I have to go off the BCP because we're TTC.
