Going for an appointment at Patken tonight - any advice?

Hi gals. I am going for an appointment at Patken tonight. I know many girls on this site have been happy with them...

Any words of wisdom from those who have used Patken?

Thanks!

bumping for Novemberbride- she used them

Here are some general questions to ask
-how many proofs are included
-do you shot in b&w and color
-what time do you arrive and leave
-HOW MUCH ARE EXTRA PHOTOS/PAGES IN MY ALBUM AFTER THE WEDDING IS OVER? (after sale for photographers is like aftersales for car dealers, big business. you need this info on your contract before you sign it)
-What exactly is included for the price I am being quoted
-When do I get to met the actual photographer who will shot my wedding day. Who is the back up photographer in case of emergency? (Super important, one of my orginal photographers had a family emergency and Mark Kauffman shot my wedding instead. But you need this type of info ahead of time)

Video:
-what kind of equipment is used? Do you use a large overhead light? New equipement does NOT require those huge lights and guests hate them.
-what kind of sound equiptment is used? Without a mic on your DH you will NOT hear your vows on the tape so what is the point then?
-when do you arrive and leave
-what do I get for the quoted price
-When do I meet the videographer? Who is the backup?
-Do you edit in house or send the tapes/DVD?

Hope this helps

don't let them assign a photographer to you. Find out who's available on your day and pick who you want by looking at sample books. Doug, Steve and Vinny are the most popular and do more of the non-traditional shots.

Lisa- Absolutely right! DO NOT just pick a name. You must see their work! Everyone is so different in style.

I think you should ask who took the photos of the pictures you really like. They told us that Doug trained all of them but you want to make sure that you like the work of the photographer. They may all be slightly different. We were very happy with our photographer. We like all the pictures but the first ones at my mom's house.I look a lot older. We think its the lighting he used and the blue backdrop. All the other photos were beautiful.

We were just informed that Vinnie who we wanted is not avaible for us on our wedding. He took our e-pics and they looked great. So we are now going to meet with another photographer named 'bones' has anyone heard of him if so please let me know.

We really liked the style of pics at Patken. We are also using them for video. The price was a little more for pics but we thought it was worth it.

Thank you girls. I really appreciate it.

This photography thing is really overwhelming IMO!

So many choices and I don't want to go wrong.
