dDe to another wedding we have to get back for 2 weeks after our wedding we are planning to go on our HM to Hawaii the day after the wedding. Did anyone else do this? Was it terrible not sleeping? We will only be able to get like 4 hours of sleep (if we're lucky) before we have to leave. Do you think we are crazy? I think it'll be fine and we can sleep on the plane. Neither of us are to concerned with sleeping -but I just want to hear if anyone else did something similar.

We were married on a Friday and didn't leave for HM until Monday (the flights were sooo much cheaper than if we left on Sat or Sun).
You'll be fine!
The odds are you're not going to sleep much on your wedding night anyway
I think you'll be so excited on the plane that you won't sleep on the flight either!!
See if you can get a seat assignment and try to book the bulkhead (first row) so you have some room to stretch your legs. Or see if travel agent can book you a window and an aisle seat in a three seat row. The middle seat will be one of the last to be filled---hopefully it will remain empty so you have some room to get comfortable.
What a great choice for your HM. Hawaii is amazing!!

I think you'll be fine - We got married on a Friday and left on Sunday evening. I really liked have the extra day at home but it wasn't totally necessary -

We left the evening after our wedding day, not the morning. So I was able to sleep and finish packing, plus have breakfast with the family.

We got married on a Saturday and left for our honeymoon on Monday. It was good to have a day to relax.

I think you will be fine. It is such a long flight I am sure you will be able to sllep on the plane as well.

We had a day between the wedding and the honeymoon and really cherished that day. I would recommend waiting a day if you can or even leaving later in the day if you leave the day after your wedding. We really needed the time to finish packing and relax.

We went on our honeymoon the day after the wedding. I set it up this way intentionally b/c I didnt want to go home to 'reality' before leaving. It worked out just fine. The logistics beforehand were a little more complicated b/c we had to get our luggage to our hotel room the day of the wedding but that was the only issue.

I went to Hawaii on the Monday after my Saturday wedding which I preferred because I had a great brunch the next day and then went home and packed. This was our preference.
However, I think you will be fine.....I have a lot of friends that advised us to go the day after the wedding. They said you will be exhausted and sleep the long flight away!

We got married on Sat & left on Monday morning early, also. I can tell you that we were exhausted & both slept the ENTIRE flight to Hawaii (changing planes was the only time I was awake). When we landed in Hawaii & finally got settled in, it was about 1AM NY time. We'd been up for about 21 hours by that point. We relaxed the whole next & were fine for sight seeing & activities on day 3.
I think it'll be fine to leave immediately. You'll sleep the whole way & you'll start your HM a day early. You'll be glad you did once you get there!!

FH hubby & I are getting married on a Sunday, doing all our banking on Monday, then leaving on Tuesday! We thought that this would be best for us!!!!!1

We gpot married on Sat and left Sun am-- we originally wanted to stay for our brunch and our RB communion party( he made his communion the morning of our wedding!!!) but DH finally put his foot down and we left the next day!! Best thing we could have done-- our first dinner in Aruba was a blur but it was worth it!!!

We left Sunday morning after our Friday wedding but not for the reasons most people mentioned: we had people in town we don't see very often so it was nice to be able to spend quiet time with them the next day. It's hard to catch up with people the day of the wedding.
Also, if you don't go to the bank before the honeymoon make sure your cards are in a secure place, preferably with a trusted friend or relative. There will be cash along with the checks and why take chances?

You can mamage it. We got married on a Friday...and didnt leave till Sunday. It was nice because we were able to sleep, and go through our $$$ to bring last minute cash on the HM. But like someone said sleep on the plane...it will be a long flight.

We went on our HM a day later since the next day we had a Post-Wedding Brunch for our guests. Our wedding was on a Saturday and Monday we left for our HM which turned out just fine as we didn't pack and have everything ready before departing. We didn't rush our packing either and were able to sleep in on Sunday as we were so exhausted.
However, to each their own. It's really up to how comfortable you are.

We got married on Saturday and left for our honeymoon early Sunday morning, and everything worked out great!....The only thing was to make sure we were all packed and ready before the wedding. We actually did this on purpose so we would not have to entertain people after the wedding, we were in our own little world and didnt want it to end!......It worked out perfect, dont worry at all!

Did anyone change at the hall out of your dress and tux? We are leaving for the HM the next morning so I think we will have to change at the hall to have someone return the tux and take my dress. I guess I need an outfit to leave in - any suggestions??

I left the next day after staying the wedding night at the hotel. We had my MOH come pick up our clothing as well as all the other stuff that needs to go home after the wedding (toasting glasses, etc..) the next morning.
It was a little stressful packing right before the wedding but im so glad i left right away b/c it let us be in 'fantasy' land from the minute of our ceremony until the minute we got back.
If we had went home, I would have been cleaning and doing errands right away.
