does anyone have any experience or know anyone that has used a good reputable divorce/matrimonial law attorney. My cousin is thinking if filing for divorce. i dont want to post too much in to her dilemma, but shes going through a tough time, gave it her alll and its just not working!

If the divorce won't be acrimoniouos(?), and she is going through family court, she can ask for a court appointed atty. It would be free. Mediation is also another route to take if they can agree on things. Not sure if kids are involved, but if yes, they will need an atty as well if there is a custody battle. I know a good attorney for the kids, in Sayville NY. It can be very costly to divorce. Hopefully they can amicably work it out. It cost me over 70k and 4 yrs before I gave up. I hope it works out for her, but she is going to need support now. It will be a tough few years. Good luck. There are other programs out there to help with the costs if she can't afford an atty but is going through supreme court. She can try for a pro bono or modest means atty that caps fees at $75/hr. She will also need a significiant retainer for most attornies who get $350/hr on avg.
