Original post by snwb08

to buy fresh mozzarella and fresh prosciutto and yummy stuff like that? preferably near forest hills. There was a place we always went to growing up in Ridgewood but of course my parents don't remember the name/address.

TIA.

But yeah i do think astoria has more places than FH when it comes to italian delicatessen's. Well there might be a good one here in FH but i havent tried any yet.

You can always got to the East Village Cheese shop when you're downtown. they have EVERYTHING and they are soo cheap. (cash only) They even bring in bread from Balthazar.

i really wanted to go to Agata & Valentina too but if I want to buy stuff fresh I would have to buy it thursday since we have plans for the 3 days leading up to dinner. ugh, why did I decide to do this on my bday weekend?

So, you'll be in Garden City on Saturday before the family dinner on Sunday? Let me ask my Mom what's in the area there.

I know there's an A&S on Sunrise in Rockville Centre. I can't think off-hand in Garden City.

there is a pellegrino meats on covert avenue in stewart manor. they are excellent. not too far at all from garden city.

If it was in Ridgewood it could be Forest Pork Store or Karl Ehmer?

I don't know of anywhere personally, but is there an A&S Pork Store in that area?

I sent you an FM the other day and got a weird message about there being a problem with the account name? Have you gotten any others this week?

ETA: I see a Forest Pork Store on Forest Avenue near 75th Avenue. Could that be it?

A&S is in Massapequa I know, that's where my dad goes.... there must be an Iavarone still in the neighborhood, I just have to find it. It might be the forest avenue one; that's near where we used to live. But this is like 20 years later so who knows what it's like now!

I sent you back - just got your fm now.

It's located in Middle Village on Metropolitan ave.

see that's what i thought! that it was on metro, but the website is saying grand avenue in maspeth.

There is one on Metro and one on Grand Ave. I go to the one in Lake Success all the time because it is so close to work.

Iavorne is in Maspeth
I like Pastosa in Ozone Park on Woodhaven Blvd or Brothers in Howard Beach
