Got A gift from another non gift giver 10 months later

I posted that two weeks ago I got a gift from someone ten months after my wedding. Well, that person's sister was the only one left that stiffed us. There was a box on the porch with a salad plate in it today. Not much of a gift, but at least the acknowledgement. What got me mad is she made a story up in the card. She said that she thought her sister mailed this months ago and her sister thought their mother mailed it and she just stumbled on it. Why lie? Why not just say congratulations and leave it at that. What a coincidence that the two stiffers were her and her sister and her sister mailed a gift last week. Just thought I would share....

At least she gave something. We had a few people who didn't even give us a card.

woohoo! that's too funny - people just feel the need to lie and give excuses.

I would love for the people who stiffed me to even acknowledge that they did something unfair to us. But at least she sent something, with her 1 year limit.

a salad plate?! At least you got something -we're still waiting for something from our 2 stiffers.... I won't hold my breath for the 1 yr mark

my stiffers are quickly running out of time....but I doubt I'll ever see anything!

That's nice you got something though, lame excuse and all.

Last month I had to sit next to my no-show/non-gifter at a baby shower and watch the guest of honor open a blanket this woman made for her. I didn't even get a DaMn card!! I dont have the guts to say anything to her but I was hurt that she put so much of herself into this blanket while I got screwed out a couple hundred bucks and not even a written congratulations from her.

Christine - I would of felt terrible sitting next to someone who gave like that at a shower knowing how she didnt acknowledge you. Some people just dont have it to know better. I have realized now though this happens to alot of bride and grooms.

Thanks Cindy, it was really hard. I cared enough about her to invite her to the wedding and even though she had a good reason for not showing up, she could have atleast sent a card.

Christine - I had a good friend that called the week of to cancel and although she had a good excuse, she told me weeks later she could of made it. I was hurt. I was friends with her since 7th grade. She did send me expensive glasses, but I was still hurt. I learned alot about my friendships through just planning my wedding and the day of.

I would have been hurt too. She should have kept that to herself.

Has anyone watched the episode from Curb Your Enthusiasm....where Larry and his wife try to give a belated wedding gift to their friends but the friends refuse to accept it because it's after the 12 month mark, and you can't accept gifts after the 12 month mark.

It was a really funny episode.

I'm still waiting on two gifts....or at least a card.

I just don't understand how people can go to a wedding and not give a gift.

I got one earlier this week - 15 months after our wedding!!

(and there are still some out there claiming 'they're coming')
