He really is. I love him. I wish I still worked for him but he was demoted and they laid me off without telling him. Gotta love the corporate giants! But I am thankful for his honesty. He is truly my mentor.
Sandra- it totally blows that we are in this situation. Honestly, I think I am going to aim for a union or civil service job that offers a work / life balance. That's what I need!

isn't it so awful that they can not hire you because of your potential baby??? i know that i always hear to not even mention being married and blah blah for that reason alone. i just think it S**KS that they can do that to you just because you're a woman with a happy future. totally UNFAIR! ![]()

I'm glad you found out! That was really nice of your former boss to give you the warning.
And technically it's illegal to not hire someone because they may or may not get pregnant.

I know it is illegal to NOT hire someone BUT they usually use a different reason. This guy was going to hire me but I nipped it in the bud before he even offered. There is NO way in hell I am going to worry about having a family because of a job. I know I want to wait a while but why worry about this later on!
So, I sent out 3 more resumes today and all I can do is wait. Thank God DH and I are financially okay where I can take my time and find a great job. And yes, my former boss is looking out for me and is letting me know if anything comes up.
