..after sending it in for my name change. It was so quick! I mailed it in maybe 3 weeks ago. I was nervous about mailing my Passport but it worked out fine.
My name change is now official on ALL of my documents
Congratulations Teri...I'm leaving mine since it expires next year...
I have been booking all flights in my maiden name anyway...just to make things easier

Erica - I thought of doing that, and then realized mine wasn't expiring til 2007! I didn't want to have to think about it til then!

That's the onlything I have left ot change my name on!! Mine expires in like 2010 (I only got it a month before our honeymoon last year). So I guess I should send it in before I need to travel....

I sent mine in and got it back within 3 weeks too! I couldn't believe how quick it was...
All they do is put a stamp on the last page of the passport saying it was amended on such and such date with your new name. Everything else (picture) and all is the same.

Cira - yep, like Februarybride said, they just amend the back of the passport - that's it.
What surprised me was that they also sent me back my certified marriage certificate copy that I sent them - I figured they would need to keep it. That's good though, it saves me $10 from ordering another one from the Town in the future.

My passport is the last document I have to change as well. It expires next month, so I have to get a move on it.

berly - I found the forms online - search in Google for 'US Passport'. It should bring you to the Govt's site.

no fee - but you have to order a certified copy of your certificate from the Town hall where you applied for the license.
