Personally, I do not think that $140 is too much for that cake. Who are you using to make it? Edited to add - how many people will it feed? That's important, too.
Are you guaranteed that the cake will come out looking like the one in the picture does? I think $140 would be too much to pay if the cake will look like a novice cake designer or amateur made it.

BTW - I paid $185 for this cake, just to give you something to compare to. It was enough to feed more than 75 people:
It is coming from Reinholds in Huntington, and it will look like the picture, but I do need to check the size. It is for the RD, and there will be other desserts, so size is not the biggest factor, but is a valid point.
I have heard of the bakery before, and it has a good reputation....you've given me some good questions though, and it seems like a good price

Reinholds has GREAT tasting cakes. Yummy!!! But find out how many people it will feed. But Reinholds is a great bakery.
