Grrr In-Laws can be so obnoxious!

My ILs are just so pushy lately. I finally got DH to give me his xmas list. I went through and determined what I was getting for him from it. Then he had 2 things on his list that are like my dad's specialty -- he wanted 2 knives for training and my dad is a knife collector, so its sort of his 'thing' -- so I emailed his parents the list and let them know what I was getting off of it and that MY parents were going to get him the knives. Well I get a nasty little email back saying
'well....no, we're getting him the knives' Um....it wasnt a question B!TCH...I said they are getting it for him already. My MIL did that because she feels the need to be in control. I mean, she already said she was getting him a web-cam, so why does she need to take the one thing off the list that my parents would actually enjoy getting for him? I know its HER son, but honestly...there are 4 other things on the list that you can pick! UGHHHH I hate having ILs..they annoy me.

Sorry for the vent...just needed to get it out before I go home for Turkey Day

Sorry to crash, but note-to-self for the next gift-giving holiday/occassion.... do NOT tell in-laws what you're getting from the list... don't worry about duplicates... it will cause less stress this way. I'd let your parents get him the knives anyway because they'll probably be better than the ones his parents will get him being that your dad knows a lot about knives.

Well....he picked out the exact ones he wants, so they know exactly what to get him. I think though, after reading your post, that I might take the list from now on and choose what I want and let my parents choose what they want to get, and then email them the EDITED list. so they get whats left over. Its just too bad.

Thats BRILLIANT!!

Some people love to cause unnecessary drama. My dad told me once 'Some people will always complain. If they win a million dollars in the lottery, they will complain about having to pay taxes on it'

On a positive note - at least you are not living with them anymore.

I would only give them the edited list from now on, what is it with in laws and being to ridiculous? I thank God everyday that I love my inlaws I couldnt deal with that non sense
