Grrrrrr....DH lost his ring...

Grrrrrr....DH lost his ring...

...in the ocean this morning!! We're in the OBX on vaca. Celebrated our 1st anniv yesterday . Then this morning his ring flew off in the ocean after he was thrown off the kayak, hit in the neck by it and thrown around by the big waves. He's okay, little sore. I'm so sad he lost his ring...I know its just material and can be replaced but that one was obv sentimental. Oh well, it was getting really scratched up already bc he NEVER takes it off..so maybe its good that I can get him a new one. Any suggestions for durable rings?

As a sidenote, I feel like I've missed so much being on vaca and not being on here all the time. Miss you ladies!! Hope everyones doing well!!

I am sorry that your DH lost his ring and I am glad that he is ok. My friend got her DH a titanium ring and so far so good.

I'm so sorry! A friend of ours continuously loses his wedding ring (and his cell phone), so his wife is now used to it! Agonizing nonetheless.

My DH has a gold ring, so it is showing some wear and tear.

Re: Grrrrrr....DH lost his ring...

i'm afraid my DH will lose his too b/c his fingers are so skinny but his knuckles are a little bigger, so the ring fits loosely on his actual finger (although it just fits over the knuckle), and when it gets wet it seems dangerous! He always gives me his ring to wear on my pointer finger when he's playing rugby or something else like that b/c he's afraid to lose it....

That being said, DH's dad lost his wedding ring like 20 years ago, got a new one, and they're still happily married no jinx!

My DH's ring is Tungsten Carbide, which is pretty durable, but kinda heavy....

Aw Jess, so sorry he lost his ring!!!! Thankfully he didn't get badly hurt also! I too have heard that titanium rings are very durable, maybe look into those?

My DH lost his ring on the 2nd day of our honeymoon while we were snorkeling in Aruba!! We got him another one while we were there..

Titanium is supposed to be the most durable, but it was too durable for my friend's husband.. he was in his car at a red light and had his arm up and his hand tapped against the window and the window shattered into a million pieces in his lap.... he thought someone shot at the car

Affordable and durable - Titanium
Dh has one , but they scratch very easy

can't really be buffed out.

Maybe it is time to upgrade

sorry about the ring btw

Re: Grrrrrr....DH lost his ring...

oh no!!! so sorry he lost his ring.......my sisters husband just lost his last weekend, they were camping, went white water rafting, a storm passed over, so in a rush to get to the side and out of the water, he lost his wedding ring! I guess it was a bad week for wearing wedding rings in the water! they're going to try and get him one exactly like it.......good luck replacing your husbands ring! if you want one that looks brand spankin' new, you can have my DH's, he never wears it! he's an electrician, so he kind of can't wear it.

ETA- happy belated 1st anniversary!!!!!

my DH lost his necklace i gave him as his grooms present the morning of our wedding.... totally not the same thing as a wedding ring, but it had a very sentimental value non the less
