from my photos. I got my proofs. They capture the entire day - a lot of them are beautiful - but I was expecting more. I'm very happy but not thrilled with them!
Some shots - Rosalie (my DOC) were such potentially beautiful ones - and she captured them better than my photographer did sometimes!
I know a lot of the pics were taken out - so I called them back to ask why - probably b/c of a blink or out of focus.
I got just under 600 proofs. They didn't bother looking at them to make some black & white, etc. They did in some others proof books.
My parents say they are very nice but standard wedding pics - nothing too artistic or clever! Maybe I'm being too critical - but I was so excited about these pics. I tried doing so much research to obtain the style pics I wanted. I don't know - at exactly 5:30pm my photographers said good-bye.
I'm so frustrated!!!
ETA: He had an assistant with him. There were absolutely no pictures from cocktail hour - and we left the photoshoot early to greet our guests. We have not one picture from CH.
ETAETA: Thinking about it - I really needed to arrange myself - that day - the shots I wanted. Like - 'Bridal party - everyone cheer!' For that fun disorganized shot. As it is I was making recommendations.
ETA#3: I can't believe how two people can do so much research and not obtain the results desired. I know this is bad - but I keep thinking 'maybe I should have gone with photography company A - then I'd have more of the photojournalistic shots - like the ones that are angled'
During one shoot, the photographer had us walking away from him - and I'm thinking 'Oh, these are going to be great shots - for the end of the album'. Little did I know he had a lense on the camera that disorts the image - making the center sharp and the outsides blurry.
IMO the whole picture looks blurry and I would rather have had a decent picture, no effect - but all sharp.
I'm going to ask to see the photos they took out.

Re: Had very high expectations....
I agree-- While my pics came out nice, I was disappointed. My photographer missed some important people and moments--- ex.-- the bouquet toss, garter toss, my sister and her husband, etc... She took lots of pics of my husband's family, but few of mine. She kept telling me to close my eyes, open them, and smile, and as a result, I look possessed in many of the posed pics. I too gave her lots of examples of what I wanted, and few of them were taken. ...

I wonder if doing an e-shoot is a good thing to do too, for that reason. You get to 'try out' a photographers personality, if they're too pushy or something. It wasn't included in our package but we're thinking about going back to the photographer around Christmas for family pictures in the city somewhere to put on our Christmas cards.
