Heather's hair discussion reminded me that I want to chop my hair off this weekend. I'm thinking of cutting it just around my shoulders with long layers (I'm so boring).
I'm debating highlights. Any input? How often will I need to 'touch up' my highlights? I've never had highlights but the appearance of 1-2 small grays has made me want to hide them amongst highlights!!!!
Also, I'm thinking of going to A'Lure in Amityville since they have a lovely 50% off sign out front. Any input?
A'Lure? Majestic Salon? Lumara?
Any input is appreciated! TIA!

Re: Hair question....
I have blonde over my dark brown, I tend to go ever 2-3 months.. although I should go more often. If you are going with a more subtle color, I think you could get away with a little longer.

I'm thinking auburn/red over my dark brownish-auburnish....nothing drastic.
God, I'm so boring.....

I think it would be a nice change. It doesn't have to be drastic!

Re: Hair question....
Colleen, honestly, do some bright honey blond highlights. I think auburn is just going to blend too much. Stand out a little bit, dammit!! Get some choppy layers and some chunky highlights!

Choppy layers with fine hair (or at least my hair) end up looking stringy.
And blond?!? I'm not sure I can handle that.....

LIke a dark blond - you need some contrast! It would make your hair look so thick.

This is what I do when I go for a haircut: 'Do what you want. Not to short or too many layers. Make sure I can get it into a ponytail.'
Then I cry about it for a few days.
Now I'll say: 'Do what you want. Not to short or too many layers. Make sure I can get it into a ponytail. And put some highlights in it. Whatever color you think is best.'
Then I'll cry about it for 3 weeks.

Re: Hair question....
Wouldn't the right layers add volume? I dont know, I have the opposite problem, my pony tail looks like a horse's *** tail.

My hair is so thin that layers just make it look craptastic. I also don't put any effort into styling my hair. I'm a skank........

i think that the opposite will happen, especially when you have the chemicals from the highlight in your hair. it definitely gives it body. it's worth a shot, it's just hair it grows out
