Try Tripadvisor, its excellent to look for reviews and search the top hotels in the location you choose.

Gurneys is super expensive and kinda old fashioned...

Honestly, we stayed at the Hampton Maid for my bachelorette and it was so nice and comfy and they have teh BEST BREAKFAST i've ever had....I'd stay there again in a flash!

The Greenporter is also nice.

Its so funny how the hotels out there are scary, lol

Personally love the Montauk Yacht Club, though it might be pricey. The rooms are beautiful though and there are a lot of amenities. Plus they have a shuttle that takes you all over the Montauk area.

I have stayed at Gurney's. Rooms are a little dated but beach is great

My aunt lives in montauk and so I go there lots..I love the montauk manor because of the high ceilings and the little patios..full kitchen etc
