I neeeeed to decorate my walls and I have framed photos from the wedding I want to put up. DH says I can't just hammer in nails (like I did every other place I lived) because the walls are either too weak, or they are like solid concrete. He says we have to use a drill. Its been a year and he still hasn't borrowed his dads drill to put anything up. So, where can I walk to (I dont have a car) either in Long Beach or in the city to get a drill, and how do I go about using it? LOL.
edited for bad typing.

At Michaels they have these hooks that stick to the wall (no nails) and they come in different sizes for different size pics. The also have velcro picture hangers that work VERY well.
Just a suggestion, in case you don't want to get into the drilling thing.
Oh, and the ones that stick have a thingy on the bottom that you pull when you want to take it off the wall and supposedly it doesn't peel the paint. HTH!

Re: hanging photos
You don't need to drill into the walls. In order to do that you would have to use anchors. I'd only do that for something really heavy like a mirrors.
Use picture hangers instead. They are a j-shaped piece of metal and the nail gets hammered in at an angle. The j-hook takes the brunt of the weight and stabilizes the nail.

Whatev, you DH knows nothing
I have pictures hung on my walls to nails I banged right in, they havent fallen, drooped the wall or started to sag and they have been up for over a year. The only thing you can really just hang are surround sound speakers and heavy stuff-that kind of stuff you need to anchor to a beam in the wall. I am in an apartment that is old and the only thing that has fallen off my wall is a surround sound speaker
