So DH and I have been planning a trip to Maine for presidents day weekend forever now. We were gonna go and stay with my parents and visit with them and just relax and go out for a nice dinner on Vday. . I even put in for my days off at work already. Well now DH's band has a show and they are committed to rehearsals that entire weekend. So now we can't go away and I probably will spend valentines alone. But this show is a showcase and supposedly there will be industry people attending, so its a great opportunity and Im really excited for them. Im just bummed about taking off with no where to go and not going to visit my parents. But the show will be cool! LOL.

Aww, I understand your disappointment. It's really nice that you're so supportive though. It's just too bad you will be alone on Valentine's, but could you possibly go to Maine the weekend before or after? (edited for typo)

Aww can you guys plan the trip for the weekend before or after? You can have a nice dinner that Sunday night right after V-Day. Can you go to the showcase to see him?

oh nooo so sorry ur plans got messed up! If anything, i'm sure u can go to the show & have a good time maybe make late night plans to go out afterwards?? he'll have to owe you a special date If it makes u feel any better, my brother is in a band & playing a benefit show on Valentine's Day..so sil is bummed too - but also planning on a late night date

can you go to the showcase with dh ? this sounds like a great opportunity for him and the band. maybe you can do something special and romantic at home for dh and surprise him. make this Valentines day all about him.

I can go to the showcase at least, and that should be fun! Supposedly there may be some celeb sightings that night, but Im always bad at recognizing people, so I'll have to pay attention. LOL. But I dunno if i can get those vaca days back. They may have already hired a temp. So I might have to take off anyway. DH won't be home and will have the car, so I guess I can stay home and clean. But I really need to get to maine at some point. Sooner rather than later. Its hard with my parents being far and there are some medical things going on, so that makes it MUCH harder when I can't get there.
