Hardwood Floors

I need some cleaning recomendations.

I have hardwood floors in my living room.. when i moved in i moped quick and then layed rug... well i have two youg puppies and needless to say, HAD to rip up the rugs!! LOL... well i have cleaned and cleaned the floor and still when i walk on it the bottoms of my feet get black, its very gross.. i know i could sand it and it would be good as new, but the estimate i got for my floors was 600 and we are going to be doing construction in the house very soon (in fact in the living room) so it really doesnt pay to have it done 2x so quickly and spending all that money.. does any one have any ideas how to get the dirt off? any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.. thanks a bunch!!

You're right ! Sanding and refinishing is the best long-term solution, but wait to finish construction first.

For now you need a 'general' wood floor cleaning system. check out http://www.floorcleaners.net
It's a good product, and the cost is about $105 to cover a 400 sq.ft. room.
