We put in an application a few days ago for a kitten from the Pt. Jeff Save-A-Pet. She has to see the vet today, and may be referred to the opthamologist, but I'm feeling optimistic that the eye problem isn't really a problem but more of a quirk.
Anyway, I've heard that they're very selective and turn most people down. Anyone successfully adopt from them?

Re: Has anyone adopted from Save-A-Pet?
yesssss i did!!! i got 2 kittens from there last year. i took them home that day!! they did ask a few more qestions then the previous place did. they even made phone calls to refrences right then and there to see if we were legit! and they say that they can make house calls to see if the animals are ok. (it hasnt happened lol) but my 2 kitties had a bit of an eye problem too...they both had runny eyes and they sent me home with ointment for them. i went back in a few weeks for their shots and we were all good!!!! over all i liked the place alot!! i had adopted before and i didnt get the same feel. they seem to take care of the animals take then out and play with them and give them individual attention. and i love my babies!!!!!

Our first adoptee has the eye problem, but she's otherwise ready to go. The second one we want is still too small to be fixed, and they won't let you take pets home that are underweight and bring them back to be fixed once they've grown, since they're afraid you won't bring them back. (Pfft...like I'd skip a free anything from the vet.)
I totally want to bust the little diva out and bring both girls home at the same time, but can't even if I'm approved because of the total suckness of humanity.
I'm wondering if they'll cut a deal. I'll bring her in weekly to be weighed if I can take her now. Otherwise I might just show up 2x a week to visit until they wear down.

hahaha i would so do that!!! like a mommy with her baby! you just wanna be near them! lol i dont think you will have a problem being approved (unless ur refrences dont like you and say you would be a mean mommie! ) but this give you time to go out and buy toys and a litter box and if you rent i reccomend a scrating post!!!!! lol
