Re: Has anyone been to Cape Cod?

I got engaged at Cape Cod. We stayed at the Sea Mist resort.

If you can stay close to where the ferry is to go to Martha's Vineyard, so that you can get the best of both worlds. See all of Cape Cod and hop on the ferry to MV when you want. Its easier to have your car on CC and just ferry over to MV.

Whalewatcing was fun. See what festivals might be going on. I went in the Spring so Im sure there are different things going on in the fall. Spring was also off-season and a bit quiet, so we did have one or 2 evenings of boardgames and TV, which was fun too.

I cant think of any more details right now. I'll post more if I remember
If you do a search, there should be tons of websites on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard HAVE FUN !!!

Re: Has anyone been to Cape Cod?

I have been going there all my life! My mom and dad live there now. In Dennisport - very close to Chatham. I LOVE Cape Cod. We normally stay at my mom's of course, but have stayed at this great B&B called By The Sea. Everything is very casual at the Cape so don't expect fancy - very barefoot feeling all year round!

The Ocean House in Dennisport is a great restaurant on the water. MUST go to Wellfleet for oysters - you can watch them catch them right there! I will get the name of the place for you. Provincetown is a GREAT way to spend a day or two even. TONS of gift shopping, great things to say, wonderful little restaurants - you can take a whale watch from there which is amazing. (eats up a few hours though!) Take Dolphin Fleet if you do that. (there is another town you can take the whale watch from as well...Barnstable). Up in Provincetown are all these beautiful dunes...it's such an amazing and quaint town. Make sure to find the candy store and stock up on candy necklaces and FANTASTIC FUDGE!!!!! Town of Chatham also has great stores, but not as many...If you stay in the Dennis area, make sure to go to The Sundae School for ice cream! And Woolfie's for muffins in the morning!!! Any of the locals will tell you how to get there.

I want to get you some other reference points...I'll ask my mom. There is a neat little island you can go to (15 min ferry ride) and see tons of seals on the beach!!!

also just wanted to mention that Provincetown has great shops and restaurants (I went in HS), but if you aren't comfortable with homosexuality you may want to stay away...

oh good point erica. glad you mentioned that! it is pretty much 100% gay!! Which is probably why there are so many creative little shops...and it's so CLEAN!!!

I've been every summer for 15 yrs and LOVE it. We always stay in Chatham and there are millions of little bed and breakfasts. I think CHatham has one of the best 'villages' on the cape. Do a Google search for Cape Cod or Chatham and you will see loads of info! Provincetown is so much fun. Great shopping, ice cream and fudge!!
